Chanel 19 -- small or medium/large?

I recently managed to nab a Chanel 19, black, small and while I love her, I think I would prefer a medium. For some reason I started to think a medium would be too big for me, but now I don't think so -- I love the slouchy look of the medium. As this bag is so hard to come by I am wondering what to do! Normally I would return (I haven't used the bag yet -- not even taken off the tape or anything) but um... am I ever even going to SEE a medium? And if I do, will it be way over the price on the pre-loved market? I called the boutique and they said they have ZERO anywhere in the city... she also said the wait lists are so long that even when they will come in, they probably won't hit the floor as all of the bags will go to those on the lists (I'm on a list but not sure of my placement on it). I could totally use the small and love her but ... not sure what to do!

This would be a great discussion for the 19 Bag club board! I, too, have the smallest size (what Chanel calls Medium) 19 bag in black. I practically killed myself getting this one (so difficult!) so I won't be letting it get away. I love it! That said, I am also considering the Large in addition to the one I have for a slighter bigger capacity. At some point up the road. I bought my current 19 new, but will likely go the pre-loved route next time... but not if they are still over retail. I'm hoping that will die down.

For you, if you are already concerned about the size of the bag, I would return and get the size you want. It may only bother you more as time goes on. It's an expensive bag, so don't settle! Keep your eye on the pre-loved market. There are some trustworthy re-sellers on IG, as well.

I have an excellent personal shopper who helped me find mine. I know that those Larges and Maxis are floating around out there. I am happy to share my PS if you are interested in going that route, just DM me.

Thank you! I returned it and feel a kind of relief (even though it was hard watching it go...). I am on a waitlist for a medium/large hopefully that will work in however many months. I'm glad you love yours -- it's such a beautiful bag!

It's the size of a jumbo and the strap is a bit shorter than the small (so it hits me in a better spot cross body). It's not too big at all in person (I find some pics make it look much bigger than it really is).

I think you made the right choice to wait for the size you love!

It's the size of a jumbo and the strap is a bit shorter than the small (so it hits me in a better spot cross body). It's not too big at all in person (I find some pics make it look much bigger than it really is).

Woo-hoo -- My medium came in this morning and I just brought it home! I'm kind of surprised I managed to get one! I'm so glad I returned the small now because the medium is so much more the look I'm going for -- it also packs a lot. And yes, it doesn't look as big. I think because it's not structured like a jumbo cf -- it rests against your body, doesn't look boxy. I like the strap length too -- I feel like with the chunkiness of the hardware, the bag looks fitting in the medium, but that's just me. Yay!

Awesome!! Congrats! I'm glad you went with your gut and got the medium. I agree about the hardware - I realized when I had the small that all the images from Chanel that I had seen of the bag were of the medium. So, when I got the small the proportions seemed off to me. Don't get me wrong, if I could I would have both but I ended up preferring the medium.

Hey, I just experienced the opposite. I bought the medium one because it was the last one remaining in that color. I mean, THE COLOR! (Is an olive one, gorgeous), but I usually wear smaller sizes so it was hard for me to be convinces because I think I’m to small for it. But today everyone told me it looks great and I have a new size on my collection so, I’m keeping it!
