Hi, I've finally really gotten on board w the 19 as a great everyday bag and have two opinion questions for the experts and those who have and love or dislike the bag:

(1) I do like the medium (small, 26cm) size's look, and it's spacious enough but just enough where I think the larger size would afford a little more flexibility which would be nice -- but mostly, I'm not huge on crossbody being the really main option for wearing a bag and being ~5'4", the small's strap is really long as a shoulder carry --I'm wondering if the large's strap being a little longer will help with that -- but coupled with whether the large will look too big (like a travel bag or briefcase)

I've never tried on the large (and do intend to) but I'd love people's own opinions/experiences

(2) With the disclaimer that I absolutely do agree w the sentiment that it doesn't matter and you should wear what you love, I'm just curious as to people's opinions as to whether the 19 has already had its day and is looked dated or whether we're not there yet and the jury is out

THANK YOU for all advice/opinions!!

I bought and immediately returned a 19 tweed in size large. I’m 5’1 and the large looked like a tote/computer bag on me. I couldn’t wear it crossbody because it was so big. I wore it on the shoulder and it was just way too big.I have a small tweed 19 now and I love the size. Definitely try before you buy. Good luck.

I recently got on board with the 19, the smallest size specifically. I think it's considered a classic now? It's definitely gained popularity because it's quite a functional bag with it's back pocket and single interior compartment. I don't like that the price has increased a lot since it first came out! And I only expect it'll get higher. I do think it'll look dated eventually, the chunky multi color hardware isn't a timeless look. But I really don't think that I'll care when that happens because it's one of the few styles (along with WOC and mini) I personally feel comfortable carrying casually as opposed to a fancier classic flap.

That’s really good to know - thanks! I realized there were a bunch of typos in my first post, I meant shorter strap in the large but this makes sense and I will say some SAs had said there’s no point in me showing me the large bc “it would look like you’re running away from home” which was why I never considered it initially

That’s exactly my thought process - if it’s the one bag I’ll actually functionally use all the time then I’ll get my cost per wear out of it even if it isn’t a longer term investment

I am 5’2” and a small is the right size for me. It’s rather a roomy bag, so don’t be considered with small in its name. As far as being on trend or dated, it’s not as hot as it was a few years back, but I would say since has some classic elements to it, flap, cc turn lock it will be relevant probably for another few years.
I had mine since 2019 and I used a lot in fall/winter of 2019-2020. With Covid and never left to work from home, I used cheaper, wipe-able bags. I used it here and there and I am giving it another go before I decide to part with it, and I have fell in love with it again. It’s such an easy bag to use, and it’s an instant outfit maker. Hope this perspective help you with your decision.
