Just acquired my first ever Chanel bag in Mini or now Small Coco Handle in Black Caviar with Champagne/ Light GHW. If anyone would help identify the following concerns:
1) Authenticity/ Serial number indicates it 29 series both with the card and tag, however the sales tag indicates 20A - is this a contradictory?
2) Does the burgundy lining stay flat against the interior of the bag - the lining of my new bag simply floats and wrinkles as it it had been put in dryer and shrunk and then it lifted and pulled out easy when I was trying to identify the serial tag located left corner towards front main compartment?
The only reason I’m so concerned is that between Aug-Sept ‘20 I visited two LA-US Boutiques that sold and shipped me two defective Small Chanel 19 Black-Goatskin bags and two Medium Business Affinity Black-Caviar bags, which was disappointing and upsetting as my introductory into a coveted fashion house known for their impeccable quality in leather goods! When I say defect I mean:
a) 1 inch deep scratch on 1st bag then skewed/scratched/ frayed leather strap, on 2nd Chanel 19 bag
b) burgundy lining with US nickel and quarter sizes white/cum drops/ stains, hardware scratches and irregular side pleats on 1st bag then crushed as if someone had pretend to play with it as an accordion leaving remarkable indentations and quilt deflation’s on 2nd Medium Business Affinity
I usually have a good sense of humor but for SA to add and try to dismiss or pass as “each bags are carefully handcrafted and will be imperfect!” It is so undermining and downright disrespectful and insulting! Chanel is not known for their impeccable quality in leather goods, not for a long time.

And to be very honest, I don’t see much problems with the bags at all. But if you are that unhappy with them, you can always return them.
Sure Chanel is incomparable to Hermes leather goods quality. But for a fashion house who maintains global reputation and conducts price increases atleast twice a year on their leather goods has a higher standard to uphold.
If you saw these defects in person, I would hope you’d reconsider dropping over $13K from your pocketbook.

In one location I was able to receive return label for Chanel 19 exchange. And when I received the exchange that too was damaged. I was forced to personally return at BH location but was denied because they wouldn’t accept defective product from another store, I was livid, so I returned at Robertson for full refund. For the BA, I had to pry for a return label for a defective bag they shipped because apparently they normally don’t provide return labels? So when I received my BA exchange that too was in worst condition than previous bag. So I decided to give up on BA and was forced to return again at the store via Uber during a global pandemic because they needed the actual card in order to issue refund! After all is said and done, now I’m having serious doubts about keeping the Mini Coco or giving them any business at all?

That is true, we all wish that their quality could be better, it has declined so much throughout the years. But even Hermes do offer bags that have minor scratches on the leather once in a while.

I have bought quite a few displayed items and also brand new items with protective film still on, some have slightly scratched hardwares, some frayed leather straps (which I was being told by many classic flap owners that is normal) and some with glue residue on the inside of the bags that are fabric lined. I do not mind many of these minute imperfections as I know it is near impossible to find an impeccable bag, or at least I do not feel like wasting my time and energy doing so.

That being said, I was able to inspect all bags in the boutique before I purchased them and I find their conditions to be acceptable. I’ll admit I sometimes do settle with subpar quality due to the rarity of the bag. But if it was a phone order and the bag does not meet my expectations, I would simply return it.

If it is an option for you, maybe you can visit the boutique next time so you can inspect the bags before purchasing.m

It sounds like Chanel isn't living up to your expectations anymore. I agree with @mrsblue, save yourself the hassle of return labels and bags not being up to par and in the future only buy after you've seen a bag.
