Chalcedony 10 AND 20 motif?

I'm struggling a bit with my next VCA purchase. I'm addicted to chalcedony, it expresses my personality and aesthetic perfectly. I already have the earrings and the bracelet. Should I get the 10 or 20 motif next? I have a white gold 20motif mop and like it, don't wear it that often because I don't like how the chains overlap and rustle against each other in the back. With my 10 motif Malachite I feel like it doesn't fill the neckline. I like to wear V-necklines. I also think that the 10 motif doesn't show off the light-coloured chalcedony so well. The 20 motif always gets tangled at the back because of the overlapping and that annoys me because I'm afraid of damaging the stone and always have to adjust it a bit.

What should I get?
Hooking a 10 motif and a 5 motif is not an option for me personally

Hi ! Not sure what to advise but I would keep to the sure value of the 20 motifs. You could maybe think about extend the length (I think they can do +5 cm for free) if you want to reduce the overlap of the chains or just buy a small extender to put it in the neck so that the chains are less likely to overlap ?
Do you have pictures of your 10 and 20 motif so we have a look at how it goes on you ?

Have you considered the magic alhambra 6 motif. It goes especially great with V necks and is a little different than the 10 and 20 that you already own. They have a version with WG and chalcedony which I find beautiful

I also thought of the magic pendant but not the same look at all than the 10 or 20. So the 6 motif looks as a good idea. But more difficult to get

I would not get the 10 or 20 if I were you, for the reasons you stated. My thoughts also first went to the magic 6 motif necklace with chalcedony. The next option would be the chalcedony magic pendant (worn doubled it would be great for your V necks, you could even extend it slightly if you like) or the 10 motif lengthened to the max as the 3rd option. I am just placing them in order of how they might meet the preferences you explained.

Doesn't the chain overlap despite the extension? I sometimes have an external 3cm extension on my 20 motif

Yes, the 6 motif is on my list. However, because I love chalcedony so much, I would like a necklace with only chalcedony

Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of the Magic pendant. It still works in the 6 Motif necklace, otherwise the vintage size suits me better😁

I have two 10-motif YG Guilloche necklaces, which I bought because I wanted the option of a 20-motif necklace. I am not wild about the clasp showing but, honestly, I don’t think most people notice it while I am wearing the two pieces together. I bought a 2” extender on Etsy and wear the two necklaces together. They nest without scratching at the back. Just a thought for your Chalcedony dilemma.

The magic size really shows off the beauty of the stone. I am in the US and noticed yesterday it’s no longer on the website so I wonder if they are not making it anymore. Not sure I would go with the 6 motif while I think it’s absolutely beautiful it doesn’t really fit my lifestyle. I dress very casually and want the option of wearing the pieces with any outfit.

IMO only, the six motif is casual. I wear mine with shorts and also travel with it bc it’s lightweight. If you wear a higher crew neck t shirt and tuck the two dangling motifs in, it looks like a regular charm necklace.


ETA: I have a relatively large head (hat size wise compared to friends of the same height lol) and my neck can look shorter. I think the six motif or a lariat style necklace can lengthen the look of the neck but YMMV

IMO the 10 and 20 are dressier bc they have so much clean symmetry; almost like pearls.

Oh wow I didn’t think this would work casually but it looks awesome. Oh no now I have to consider the 6 if they don’t make the magic single pendant anymore. I can’t believe how good it looks with a t shirt and shorts.

@etoupebirkin My SA just offered me the Magic Alhambra 16-motif in Tigers Eye and Carnelian. I declined (beautiful but not my colors) and told her if the necklace like yours comes in to give me a call. Your post reinforces my thinking! Love the colors and love, love, love the way you have styled it.
