Central Tote 39?

I’m looking to get a new work bag for the fall. It will need to carry my laptop, binder, assorted student papers, a textbook (I work at a college), and possibly lunch. I saw the Central Tote 39 in peacock at my local boutique, and it’s gorgeous, but it’s a little pricey for “just” a tote. It also might not be as rugged as I need. Does anyone have this tote and could offer a review?

I’m also looking at the regular Central Tote (smaller and $100 cheaper, but not available in peacock) and the Zip Central Tote (more rugged with the pebbled leather and zipper, but not as beautiful IMO).

Outside of Coach, I’m considering a Frye tote or a Cuyana tote. I’d like something in leather that looks nice but will hold up to heavy use.

If it were me, I'd go with Frye tote, a tough work bag. No offense to Coach, but Frye bags are tough and rugged and if they get scuffed and marked up, they don't look bad...... they kind of are supposed to look that way.

That was my thought with the Frye, too — you can’t really ruin them! But that peacock blue...

Frye does have a tote in that peacock blue color, but it's no longer available to buy in-stores. However, Mercari has a used one for $149.
