Hi all!

I have been debating buying the Chanel WOC in caviar and silver hardware as an every day bag (and opted for caviar because I was concerned about lambskin scratching; I have a classic flap in lambskin and rarely use it for that reason). However, I recently spotted the Celine Triomphe WOC in the store and absolutely love it and how versatile it is.

That being said, I am a bit concerned about the leather. Can anyone comment about the wear and tear? The kind SA told me it really wouldn't scratch since the outer portion has some sort of coating or something on it but I wanted to make sure.

It's a gorgeous bag and I love how it can be word as a shoulder back, cross body, and a clutch! I think the gold Triomphe really pops without being over the top.

Thank you.

Looking at the close up it appears to be a fine grain leather. Still gives a soft shine but not as high shine of a finish like smooth or box leather.
Personally, I'd still say it can be prone to scratches and scratches can probably be seen. If they are light scratches then it's probably okay.
I do know for smooth leather or lambskin, light scratches can be buffed out. But I don't know about buffing a fine grain leather.

As for coating, there is not description of any kind of coating on the website. If there is one, I would have to touch the leather in-person to see if I can feel it and how thick the coating is.

If you're using it as a shoulder bag (close to body) or clutch (hand held), it's probably less likely to hit something unlike wearing crossbody. So it also depends on your lifestyle and how much you baby your bags.

Since you spoke to an SA, I'm assuming you went to see it in person? How did it feel to you?

I tried this on in store and love it! I was looking for an evening bag and think it’s just beautiful. If I’m remembering correctly (it’s been about a month), it was shiny, smooth leather. The gold hardware is stunning. Good luck!

thanks, this looks like it! I totally agree it is stunning for an evening bag/clutch and I think it could also be used on the daily. I am just concerned about wear and tear.

It felt fairly substantial but, because I was considering the Chanel WOC caviar because I do want to use it regularly and not worry about its condition (at least, not too much), I am a little concerned with an all smooth leather bag.
