Hi, all. I need some help deciding between the triomphe in textile vs. all calfskin. I have never owned anything in this textile material but the colorway just looks so so good that I'm considering this over calfskin. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

The textile is stunning however I have owned textile bags and I personally am always afraid to use them and end up selling them. One drop of something that stains and the bag is done  I owned a stunning YSL sac de jour very similar to this color way and loved it but it worried me too much. They just always sit and look pretty. Leather is much more forgiving imo. If you want to go through textile route id go with a cheap bag first and see how it wears or how you feel using it.

Hi,
Both bags look amazing!
IMO the textile looks very unique. It says Céline, because that design is now well-associated with the brand! The leather one is similar to bags from other designers/brands, and is also used as inspo for bags from contemporary designers.

To better understand how to choose, you can look into those questions here:
- Are you going to use it for everyday/errands/work, and on most days in a week? - If yes, then you better go with leather. You will will expose you bag to many environments and weather conditions, and "spontaneous" pours or snow or heat and humidity. Broken textile is very hard to repair, and those bags aren't cheap. Rain might harden textile, and the effects are irreversible.
- Are you going to rotate it on a regular basis? - If yes, then go with the textile one. This way, you will not overuse the bag, and it will "recover" at home every once in a while.
- What bag makes your heart beat faster? - If it is the one in textile, then go with that one. You will find ways to use it and keep it pretty.
- Are you looking for maximum versatility? - If yes, then leather is more suitable. You can pair it with more outfits than the textile bag, and you can wear it year-around. The textile is more suitable for colder seasons, and outfits during fall/winter weather IMO.

It is not an easy decision, given that prices are high and we want to make a reasonable choice. At the end of the day, those bags will show wear and tear from use. It is how life is. You need to go after what makes you happy, even if it is not a rational choice. Go with what makes you feel like a million bucks, because life is short!
