Hi everyone I recently came across a burgundy teen box in like-new condition and was going to purchase it until I saw negative reviews on YouTube. There are complains that the buckle is way too sharp and tends to hurt the shoulder? And worse if you wear delicate clothing, it gets ruined?

I’m from a sunny country where I’m always dressed in summer clothing i.e thin clothing, off shoulders / sleeveless tops so I was just wondering if this bag would be practical for me if the buckle is going to dig into my bare shoulders constantly?

Would love to hear your thoughts from those who own this bag and use it on a daily basis. Is the sharp buckle really that bad? Thank you!

I have to say, I really can’t stand the buckles or clips on the classic box bags. Like you mentioned, they’re very sharp, uncomfortable, and can potentially damage your clothes if you aren’t careful. Fortunately, I haven’t had any issues with them ruining any of my clothes, but I’m also conscious of what I wear with it. One of the buckles did end up scratching the front of my bag after I sat it down on my passenger seat. It’s the only noticeable scratch I have on the bag, and it’s from the bag. When I wear it, I’ve started positioning the strap so the clips are on the back. I’m not a fan of how it looks because the two leather pieces gap in a weird way, but it makes the bag much more comfortable. I’ve gone back and forth about whether or not to sell mine, but it’s so gorgeous; I can’t bring myself to do it. Lots of people love this bag and don’t seem to be bothered by the strap. Hopefully some of them will chime in and will be able to offer you an alternative opinion.

I used to put the buckles at the top of the strap so that it would look even on my shoulder when wearing it crossbody. However, yes, it did start to hurt and it became a pain to keep checking if it was even. Now, I just move the buckles down towards the side of the bag and no longer have to worry about the buckles hurting or the fuss. It may look a little funny at first, but you get used to it. When looking at photos I noticed that many box owners wear it like that and it makes sense. I do love mine and would never think about selling it either, it’s just too gorgeous. GL deciding.

Hi dear, I can only speak for myself, and I might add, that I am definitely biased as this bag is my absolute favorite bag model ever. I love the aesthetic of the buckles and I would not want it changed. I have both, the medium size and the small size. I do not have the newer teen size.

As to the comfort while wearing the bags, I honestly do not really relate to the issues other box bag owners have with the buckles. Yes they are sharp, yes, the bag is heavy (more the medium size than the small), however, if you mind the touch of the buckles on your skin you could always move the strap, like PuccaNGaru said before, towards the back or front side so that the buckles do not come in contact with your skin. There is -at least for me- no rule that says the buckles have to be placed on the very top of the strap so that they rest onto your shoulders. Having them placed on the backside and approximately at the hight of your elbow, should not bother you in terms of pain or skin contact. For the reference here some random links to pictures of people wearing the buckles on the side https://pin.it/6sDpd3J, 7fb0565ae9fb6d5751f5187f6c956de3.jpg, 42697b0170bcf91f09460e080824f1c5.jpg

I never had my hair or clothing stuck into the buckle so I cannot say anything about this issue.

So for me its more a question about whether you in particular do like the design or if you could picture a better design but you decide to cope with it. In the latter case, you probably could end up being bothered by the buckles.

I hope that you can find a good decision. In the end it is a bigger investment and I think it is good to contemplate about it beforehand. If you decide to buy it I wish you a pleasant experience with it and if not I wish you that you find another bag that is perfect for you

I don’t mind the buckles, however I have an issue with the strap hole not necessarily stretched out but doesn’t stay in place and the bag falls off my shoulder all of a sudden. I had my box for at least 10 years if not more. It is a beautiful bag.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just got one Brand New with Tags ( from a reputable reseller) and realized that I have this problem. I nearly ripped open my down jacket today while pulling on the strap. It's quite dangerous!
