CDG H store? Good selection? Good prices?

Just wondering about the selection, and whether the combination of country-of-origin and any Duty Free *helps* at the store in CDG?

DH will be spending the next week in London and Paris for work, and will fly from CDG on Saturday. Thought I could convince him that he feels very guilty for going to my favorite place (France) without me, and maybe bring me a little something, like a scarf or a bracelet from H store on his way out. (He's going to be soooo busy with meetings that I don't see him doing any shopping outside of duty free.)
:graucho:

. . . DH is a little weird about luxury brand buying, in the case of certain brands, especially H. I am pretty sure he considers H snooty and overpriced, and I am trying to disabuse him of that notion. . . (I mean, he *gets* Cartier, why not H?) . . . him feeling like he's getting a good deal re: duty-free and whatnot might help break him in.

Yes it's cheaper at the airport, because it's tax-free. If you buy from FSH or George V, you only get 10% of the tax refunded upon exiting the country. Unfortunately, the inventory is usually pretty limited, so if there's something you have your heart set on, the city stores would be a better bet. He could call ahead to check, although I'm not sure if they'll hold items.

PS. the FSH store is right across from Cartier... your DH might want to make a second stop if he feels REALLY guilty about going to Paris sans you! ;)

Thanks VanillaSkye-- I'd forgotten about the location of Cartier. . . something tells me he won't feel that guilty THIS trip, but come this summer, when he is in Europe 3 weeks out of 4, and me home with a 2yo and a 5yo, maybe he will need to visit, lol. :graucho:

We'll see. Today I tried on a pair of Louboutins at NM and they didn't have my size. . . and he suggested he might visit Louboutin for me on Rue de Grenelle, as he will have a half-day to wander. (He's a sucker for those red soles and high, high heels. What man isn't?) So who knows what he might come home with?

  :smile1:

LOL - I know, I too wear Loubies in part because my DH loves how they look!
You know, there's a much bigger Louboutin boutique just down the road from H, at no. 68 rue de FSH. More inventory for sure, so there's no need for the trek to Grenelle!

I have great affection for Grenelle, partially because I love the neighborhood and partially b/c that boutique is where I *discovered* Louboutin, back in the summer of 2000.

However, if DH ends up staying closer to rue de FSH, which it looks like he will, then I will send him to the big boutique, should he decide I *need* shoes, lol.

^^Thanks for that tip! I am going to Paris soon and I was hoping I can find a CL store near FSH!

My pleasure :smile1: Their service is excellent - they didn't have my size in a style that I wanted, but they got the right size couriered over from the Grenelle boutique within 20 mins! They even rang London to try and locate a pair of boots I wanted that were sold out in Paris!
