CC TARNISHING: Chanel Shiva Small Bag

The antique gold on the CC logo and turnlock is tarnishing into silver underneath from constant use of the opening and closing of the bag. It's obvious that it was a spray-on antique gold but is this something normal that happens over time? It's a seasonal bag that I purchased in 2012.

Is this something that Chanel will fix (I know I have to pay out of pocket)?

Any thoughts and experiences with these type of issues are welcome! Thank you in advance!

If you bought it from a boutique yes approach them to have the bag refurbished. If that's not an option there are restorers found in the Chanel forum (Love My Bags) comes to mind.

However for Chanel Jewelry I've had exceptional results from this restorer. I believe she works on bags as well.

I would just ask the boutique to send it in and replace the hardware. it's not that expensive, it's worth it to me to just have new hardware. I see it same as repainting your car after a few years, it's like a brand new car!
