Cats eye chrysoberyl

Phenomena (chatoyancy and also star) are different with every stone. The stone needs to move in the light in order for the full effect to be appreciated, so I'm not sure a photo will capture any better than the many pics through G. search.

I have some untested star ruby cabochon studs in wg and a star sapphire ring (somewhere) but I don't have any chatoyant (cat's-eye) Chrysoberyl (cymophane) that would be even more gorgeous because I like green stones.

Yes, rubies and sapphires are both corundum

Sorry about spelling, autocorrect is worse than me. Should read 'untreated' not 'untested'

Are you interested in the phenomena or the stone itself?
