I posted a few things as they claimed to be really solid auctioneers with experts, half of the items were not paid for so according to them I have to wait weeks and then might relist them, listed a few things where the "experts" (who seems everything but, after googling her name, actually a failed fashion student) asked for pictures of things the brand does not have, as in holograms for Escada, told her and asked to have the items removed that are not in auction (you can't even put a reserve price on Prada) as it doesn't seem very legit or there is expertise, I was then threatened that being this way will result in the expert not being happy with my lot and "good luck" - so naturally I am not going to sell with them but they do not seem to remove items.

They charge seller and buyer, seller 15% buyer 9% but nobody handles items, you can't really mail them but calling them costs apparently premium rate...

I plan to stay clear

I only use them for items that I really want to get rid of quickly, I had bought from them in the past and it was more miss than hit, listed a few things, well, for most items they do not allow a reserve so you can actually end up selling something high end for like 5, shelling out massively on postage...

I used to list things there that I wanted to get rid off quickly, hadn't listed anything in a while, today I received an email that they revoked my selling rights? Not sure what is going on with them, but you only got a fraction of the prices anyway, so not really worth selling, if you buy there is basically no protection, ended up with a fake bag, rang them, they charge premium and nothing was done, they told me they had paid the seller already...

LOL, same here, wanted to sell an Oscar de la Renta evening dress, the "expert" told me that there is no reserve an she thinks it is worth under 100, asked her is she actually had ever heard of OdlR or seen their prices, and they kicked me off

I just googled them...

Pretty devastating reviews, then looked at the site and I saw a ton of fake handbags

The problem is that their experts aren't really experts, then they never handle the product, so basically somebody could load up pictures of a real item, but send a fake, until you got it authenticated, too much time has passed and they have paid out so you are stuck, you can then try to sue, but if the seller is in another country or possibly on another continent, that will be complicated.

I don't think they have real buyers when it comes to fashion or bags, just people trying to get something expensive for as little as possible, hence their refusal for reserves or only putting very low reserve prices on.

They basically hire people for very little money, and you know the old saying "pay peanuts..." their experts seem to be "Oh I once saw that, so I have expertise"

When it comes to buying or selling, I prefer a reliable middle man, checking the goods, they never even handle the goods, there are horror stories out there of people buying expensive items, claiming a problem and then sending another item back while the buyer had to pay for shipping to and back, the 15% sales commission, the 9% buying commission, lost the item and got no help.

I'm not saying this lightly, but eBay might be a much much better choice

My relationship with this company came to an end this year when I was blocked for asking a question of an auctioneer and following up a week later asking why I'd not been replied to.

THEY THEN BLOCKED ME AND HELD MONEY OWNED TO ME FOR ONE MONTH AS PUNISHMENT!

They didn't even tell me they were doing this and refused to reply to my emails during this time. I am only just being paid for auctions that ended TWO MONTHS AGO!

My advice, with over 20 years of experience buying and selling online, AVOID CATAWIKI. You are seen as a cash cow, nothing more. They make 21.5% commission from your sale. If you are outside the EU you also have to accept the extremely poor conversation rate they use when sending you YOUR MONEY. Money, but the way, which can also held for weeks on end after the auction ends.
