im looking to buy a cartir love bracelet however im undecided of what colour i should get!

i have mid/dark brown hair and its long! i also have green eyes! what colour would best suit

I'm wondering for myself too! I think you have to see it in person to know. I HAVE heard that:

a) the white gold CAN change colour with polishes and apparently shows scratches the easiest (my SA's opinion)
b) the yellow gold is absolutely classic and gorgeous!
c) the rose gold is apparently a very subtle rose - not TOO pinky - some have said it could even be considered yellow until you hold it up to yellow.
d) my friend has the yellow so I see one every day now and I have to say it is VERY yellow. Which is great if you love yellow! It's definitely not subtle yellow though. IMHO it does not work with her skin tone at all (I think it would suit me as I have more olive/warm skin) - her skin has cool undertones, she's quite pale and I don't know why but I hate it on her! I think she would have done better with the white or even rose, but that's just my opinion. She has the gold ballon blue and I thought that about THAT peice on her too.)

Hope that helps!

thanks so much for replying! im really stuck as to which one to choose , i have slighty oliver skin as well:) im not to keen on silver anyway! im really not sure gold , yellow gold or rose gold !!

thanks for your comment tho it helped!

My friend and I were comparing bracelets yesterday and her RG and my YG were pretty much indistinguishable! Maybe the lighting in the waiting area of the gymnastics studio wasn't too great!

I took me LONG time to decide on which color I should get and I finally picked up the WG with diamonds!:D

As surfergirljin wrote, a) the white gold CAN change colour with polishes and apparently shows scratches the easiest (my SA's opinion). But the WG with diamonds are additionally coated to prevent being scratched. It seems the special coating really works! Just FYI.:smile1:

Sorry for going off topic, but what exactly is this special coating? I, too, have the WG with diamonds.

I was told by my SA at NM that they sell a lot of the LOVE bracelets and WG is the most popular out of the three. The yellow gold is really rich in color, which is a little too strong for my taste. When I'm ready to by another love bracelet, I will probably go with pink/rose gold. I already have a C-motif bracelet from Cartier and it complements my fair (with v. slight yellow undertone) skin well.

Interesting - my SA in Toronto told me that the RG is the most popular and is not even available for employees to purchase (I'm assuming she means on the employee discount) because it's the most requested one!

I'm sure it can depend on a lot of things including where in the world you are. She used to work for Van Cleef (that's how I know her) (they are sister companies, did you know that? Fun fact!) and she said that in Europe, WG is almost unheard of. I mean not that it's not available but YG outsells it by like 10 to 1 or something... where as in the US I think it's more like the opposite!

When I purchased my Love bangle bracelet, I was all set to go in and get a size 17 plain yellow gold. But at the very last minute, my BFF talked me into the plain white gold. She felt it would go better with my platinum wedding rings and my ss watches. I did not want to pay extra $ cause the white is a few hundred dollars more than the yellow. But my SA took back the limited edition Centennial trinity type bracelet I had for over 30 days. She gave me store credit so I felt justified in going for the white gold. I have no regrets. At the time, my SA tried talking me into the plain yellow as she believed it to be the most classic. I also own a RG cuff. I have no interest in getting a yellow one. Two is enough!

I went to Cartier 3 months ago with the intention of buying the Wg but ended up coming home with the yg & I owned at the time all Wg, SS & platinum no yg at all I have since purchased a few yg items.

The reason I came home with the yg is because the Wg is not dipped in rhodium it is if it has diamonds & I prefered the colour of the Wg with diamonds but couldn't afford this & I didn't want it to blend in, I wanted it to stand out from the rest of my jewellery, my DH has got the plan Wg love ring & IMO it has got a grey sort of coulour it's still lovely but I just preferred the Wg with diamonds.

I have the YG love bangle and I just love the color of the yellow gold. My wedding ring and engagement ring are platinum and so is my right hand ring. Most of my watches are SS. I really enjoy how the yellow gold stands out against all the platinum!

You should go in and try them on if you can. That way you can be sure which one goes better with your skin tone. Good luck and have fun shopping! You will not regret getting this beautiful piece of jewelry!
