I got myself a Rolex for my big birthday and no longer wear my two tone Ballon Bleu which has gone up a lot in price since I bought it. Unfortunately my inattentive and impulsive self threw away the box and extra links as I never thought I’d sell it, it had been my dream watch for years.
I am getting quoted pennies for it second hand. I am wondering whether to keep it for my daughter who is only 1!
For those that have sold your Cartier watches successfully where did you do it? am in the Uk.
Thanks.

You could try Suzanna Lovis, Burlington Arcade https://www.susannahlovis.com

I have neither bought nor sold anything through them, but I have been tempted by interesting stuff in the window

To some degree, the model and size make a big difference in value. If you have a larger BB with an automatic movement, it is probably worth more because there is a bigger market for those. The larger sizes can be sold to both women and men (and men want larger watches with automatic movements rather than quartz ones). Having box, papers and extra links does add value, but it shouldn't totally kill the value of your watch. I don't know if TheRealReal has a branch in the UK, but a friend had good success selling a very sized Rolex there that no local places wanted to purchase. Wishing you lots of luck with selling your watch. Also, if you decide to keep it for your daughter consider buying a few extra links for it in case she needs them in the future (both because the cost will go up and if they ever change the bracelet it could be tough to get links for an out of production watch bracelet).

If you're getting peanuts for it, I would definitely consider keeping it to pass on to your daughter. Vintage has a certain vibe to it, especially tt vintage pieces. Hard to say if she'll love it or not. But I've read a lot of ppl got into watches because of the pieces they received or even if they don't wear it often, they treasure the pieces because it's more meaningful as a gift.

be careful as a situation happened recently where a well known grey market aka 3rd party luxury watch (Rolex and other brands) dealer got caught "buying" watches and never paid out to clients, believe all were on consignment - the dealer admitted (after getting caught by a client on a recorded phone call) that he spent all of the monies to the tune of 5M USD and can not pay any clients - it's all over YT + TT, he was running a luxury watch ponzi scheme!

would advise to keep the watch and give to your daughter, it's a beautiful watch!

have 2 watches that were given to me by my mom, both were presents from my dad to her + cherish them immensely and one day will pass on to my daughter
