Hello everyone,

I ordered a watch from cartier and received it today. The box that it came in will not close. It looks like the latch isn’t catching. Also the back piece is peeling off weirdly. Do you think I can ask for them to send me a new box or when stores open again I can go in and get a new box?
 
IMO it shouldn’t be a problem to get a box in good condition that closes properly. If it were me, I’d go to the store when it reopens, with your receipt, and perhaps pictures of the condition of the box when it arrived. Asking for customer service by mail under the current situation might not be effective.

Yes, I recently ordered something online, and I have noticed that the care they place into the packaging seems subpar from what I have experienced in the past. Don't know if they are doing less due to the virus or what, but this time around my packaging was not wrapped in the white paper with the seal (small minor details but nevertheless, it's still not that special treatment you would expect).

You can also email your request and maybe include pics along with your order number to them to see what they say - they may send another one out now or they may tell you to go in store at a later date. I did it with some earrings before, and they sent out the cleaning kit and travel pouch, and it was lovely.

Also, when you ask, you may want to ask for a travel pouch/box for the watch along with a cleaning kit if you did not receive one. I purchased a watch from them many years ago in store, and the SA gave me the cleaning kit and a travel box. Additionally, when you get the complimentary cleaning service in 2 years or whatever it is, you will get the same travel box again when they send it off and send it back to your home so it's nice!

Did you get a new box? Mine has the same problem- just got it today.

Hi, yes I did get a new box. I live in California so I had to wait for the stores to open up again. When I took my watch to get engraved I took the box with me to show the horrible condition. They gave me another one then and there. I also got the travel pouch once my engraving was done as well.

If you aren't near a store I would email customer service. I've always had really good service with them and they've sent me cleaning kits for my other jewelry when I didn't get them in store.
