Cartier vs Chanel

This seems to be a common topic and it really is a very personal style choice. Some people prefer the Chanel because it's more sporty and others prefer the cartier because it's more classic and elegant. Although I am a Chanel addict, I'd still buy the Cartier.
ooo the watch debate. My hubby is a total watch whore and never could understand why I would want a Chanel ceramic J12 watch... He hates that Chanel is pulling it's name to sell watches.. Chanel is first and foremost a clothing and handbag company. He feels brands that started watches ie.Rolex, Tag, etc. actually construct good watches.
So really it depends if you're going for trend or functionality......

So, just because it's Chanel, they can't manufacture a good watch? As if a multi-million dollar company wouldn't be smart enough to hire a reputable company to design and manufacture a quality time piece? Chanel makes jewelry, so I don't think that a fine watch is that much of a stretch. My DH would be considered a "watch whore" too, but he wouldn't make a judgement call about the quality of a watch simply based on a name. I don't own a J12, but I've done some research on them and they seem to be perfectly functional to me. I don't think that it's fair to say that it is strictly trend or function just because it's a Chanel.
i personally don't like the chanel watches, and i honestly feel like it's more of a trend at this point, but i could be wrong.
either way, i think your best bet is to go with the cartier. you definitely can't go wrong with cartier because of its classic style. i don't know, to spend that kind of money on a watch from chanel just doesn't seem practical.
