I know this must have been discussed before but I'm facing the same dilemma! A Santos Galbee two tone or Tank Francaise SS? I'm looking at both the small sizes. Can't decide! Is Tank Francaise more popular now?

I love the timeless elegance of the SS Tank Francaise. I have the larger size myself.
But the mirror is youf best advisor (as well as the rest of your jewelry). Have you tried both models?

I tried on both and both looked good on me! Santos is more sporty whilsts Tank Francaise looks more classic. It's a tough choice!

You can always buy a cheaper sporty watch. The Tank is so timeless, classic AND easy to wear with a casual outfit. Have you also tried the mid size of the Tank? It is less 'ladylike' and this might appeal to you.
Did you make pictures when you tried the watches? It helps you to decide and you could post them here on tpf.

And relying on your first love also helps: did you go to Cartier for the Santos or for the Tank? ;-)

And is your jewelry predominantly YG, WG or both?

I have both YG and WG jewelry. I went to Cartier for Santos initially.. because I was looking for a more casual watch. I have a Tank Louis Cartier (gold) in alligator strap and a Longines Dolce Vita (stainless steel) with diamonds (for more dressy days) so I thought I would get something sporty like Santos. Do you think Tank Francaise is casual enough for my leather jackets and jeans?

Definitely casual enough in combination with leather jackets and jeans in the mid size! Not sure about the smallest size, but I guess it would make a really nice contrast.

I am biased, but I vote for the Tank. I have the Midsize Tank in SS and love it. It goes with everything. I wear it everywhere (to the gym as well as black tie events). I literally have not taken it off except for cleanings.

It seems everyone is leaning towards the tank! I'll try the midsize and decide which one I'll get.. I'm quite convinced now it would be the tank, either small or midsize. I have very small wrists though.. we'll see how the midsize turns out.

The Tank is quite flat on your wrist, so it will not be overwhelming on your wrist.
