I received a letter from Cartier offering me a complimentary check-up on my Cartier timepiece.

Curious if anyone has used the check-up service; and if so, how was your experience?

We received the same letter for my husband’s Santos watch. I made an appointment with my SA (don’t think that an appointment is necessary but I did want to chat with her anyways). She entered the service in the system and gave me a receipt. I actually brought the original box and she said I didn’t have to do that and would give me a travel pouch when I picked up the watch. I thought it would be 4-6 weeks but turned out to be 2-3 weeks. I met the service advisor for pick up (went to a different part of the SF store in the downstairs section). She explained that they took the watch apart and cleaned it. By servicing it, it extended a warranty I think another two years? She was very helpful and I was very pleased. And she took me upstairs to check out the new Panthers wrap watches so that was fun. Definitely take advantage if it is convenient for you as the service normally costs $500. I am hoping I get the same service offer for my Tank Solo watch!

Update.

I took my watch and the letter I received into a Cartier boutique. I was told it would probably be several days before my watched had its check up and made plans to pick it up in a couple of weeks.

About three hours later I received a text letting me know that my watch was ready for pickup. I was so surprised that I called the boutique to verify that the text was not a mistake, and was told that my watch was indeed ready for pickup!

When I picked up my watch, I expressed that I was pleasantly surprised by how fast the service was. The store associate that was helping me told me it had been a slow day for repairs, and since my watch is a quartz the check up could be completed quickly.

I am very pleased with the service that I received from Cartier. The complementary watch check up was definitely worth the time spent dropping off and picking up the watch. Also, it is a great excuse for going to Cartier and looking at all their gorgeous jewelry!
