As someone fairly new to the Cartier experience, I would like to hear your experience with SAs. How helpful were they, how did they treat you, any perks? I bought a panthere watch at the New York 5th Avenue location just before Christmas and the SA was nice and helpful with the purchase, but I didn't have the luxury experience I expected. I did have to be pushy to get as many links taken out as I wanted. Maybe I expected too much? Any recommendations for SAs in NY?

I noticed the same thing when I went when I purchased my love bracelet in November.
I had more fun at the cocoa and cider event they had over Christmas.

I’ve had good and bad experiences there. I recently had a bad experience with not the sales side but the customer service side when I needed a document for insurance. They tried to charge $400 for a document needed for insurance and I was not informed of this appalling charge until after I waited quite some time. I was also not notified on the phone when I called inquiring about it. For such an outrageous charge, I would have expected some sort of notification prior or warning.

Is this because you either lost the original cert or you purchased the item from a private seller? $400 is insane!

This is incredibly upsetting. I went today too with the intention to purchase the Ballon Bleu. I waited over 35 mins to be helped and just gave up and left as there was only 3 SAs on the floor and 3 more customers ahead of me waiting to be helped.

I did see a lady on my way out who was helping no one, I asked her if she can help me with watches and she just tells me to go to that floor.

So sad! I went with my husband last year to look at wedding bands and the service was not like this.

What happened?

Omg that is terrible! It used to be so much nicer. We used to have excellent service and never had to wait. I have no idea what has happened but after my most recent issue with them I will never purchase another piece from Cartier.

I think you should you should try to get your money back because I recently obtained a valuation report as well from my boutique for insurance and it was free.

Wow!!!! That’s crazy! I know some stores are owned by others so they may be why. Oh there was no way I was paying that when I could pay a jeweler a faction of that in the diamond district to do a report so I left. It was just a very frustrating experience because I had called ahead of time, no one informed me. I also drove from downtown and there were a lot of street closures so it was very difficult just to get there and park etc. then we waited forever and then I got that news so it was just a terrible experience overall that no one informed me along the way. I’m glad you got yours at no charge, as it should be.

I wonder if they expect you to make an appointment? Not that I have any experience with this. I think I'm going to try that next time and see if I'm treated better.
Anybody here make an appointment when you shop for jewelry?

Joseph Liu is an excellent SA at 5th avenue. I'm not sure if he is still there but he helped me about a year ago and I had a great experience. He really took the time and didn't rush me despite it being a busy weekend.
