Hi all, my husband is traveling to London for work. I usually have him pick up a Louis Vuitton purse since the pricing makes it so much cheaper than the US (at least that was the case a few years ago). Is the same true for Cartier? Looking to purchase a love bracelet. I know there is a store in the airport that is duty free but was just curious if anyone had any recent pricing so I can compare to US pricing. Thanks

After Brexit, UK no longer offers VAT claims back when you export goods personally and there is not longer Duty Free when purchasing direct at the airports. They are however allowed to ship directly out of U.K. VAT free. My purchase (not Cartier) was shipped tax free direct to me in Asia.

This is fascinating! Were you able to do this by calling or just placing an order on the vendor website?

Oh no I inspected and paid for it in person (without the VAT), they then took it and shipped it out to my sister. It was a Chanel rectangular mini. I don’t normally do this and this was the first Mini I ever bought from my RTW SA so she said the SM approved as they know me. Hermes also said it can be done if my wishlist / SO bag arrives as I have been posted out of the U.K. That’s a very interesting question you raised, I haven’t considered those options. Generally the website for Cartier anyway won’t ship out of the U.K. I don’t think?
