Hi! I’m looking to buy a watch. Either the small Baignoire or a 31mm Rolex.

I have a small Cartier tank solo in YG, 28mm Cartier cougar in YG with diamonds, vintage Rolex in steel with blue face (31mm)?

I do wear the tank the most and I dress business casual for work. Should I add the Baignoire or the Rolex?

Need some help deciding!

Your collection already contains a dresser Cartier and a more casual Rolex and yet you wear your smaller Tank most of all which lies somewhere between the two. Both possibles sound like they would fit nicely into your existing wardrobe.

I am all about the wearability of everything. It sounds like an alternative smart-casual, everyday watch to rotate with your Tank Solo would be best bet, I think you may get more wear from the small Baignoire. Another ol' school classic.

These watches have two totally different vibes, so it’s kind of hard to pick one! Both are timeless and versatile, so you can’t go wrong with either; it just depends on what kind of statement you want to make and what kind of vibe you want to go with.

Given the fact that you wear your small tank most days, I think the Baignoire probably aligns most with your aesthetic and would be the most comfortable option.

I know many have and love the 31mm Datejust — I purchased almost that exact same configuration last year and personally found it too loud/flashy for my personal style and also too heavy to comfortably wear while typing all day long. I have very small wrists and it really just overpowered them … so I decided to return it and stick with my 26mm Datejust for now. It definitely makes a bigger statement than the Baignoire on the leather strap, which is great if that’s what you’re going for!

Good luck deciding; both are lovely options! 💙

Thanks everyone for the insightful feedback! I do plan on getting the Rolex at some point but ultimately went with the Baignoire.

It’s more in line with what I like to wear on a daily basis. Had a lovely experience with my SA as well. They treat you nicely for a watch appointment - treats, water, and a room haha. He also ordered the taupe strap for me so I’m looking forward to picking that up!

Perspective shots - mini vs small. Mini felt so small in person but its nice in photos :)

Go with the Cartier Baignoire. Since you already have a 31mm Rolex and tend to wear your Tank the most, the Baignoire will complement your collection beautifully. It’s elegant, refined, and suits your business casual style without overlapping too much with what you already own. It adds something fresh and distinctive, while still feeling very you.
