Hi everyone! I’m trying to decide what to purchase before the upcoming Cartier price increase and would love your thoughts.

I mostly wear yellow gold, but recently received a platinum engagement ring—so one consideration is adding more white pieces. I’m not a fan of mixing metals on the same hand, but I’m fine wearing my engagement ring on the left and yellow gold bracelets on the right wrist. And I'm open for ideas to mix WG x YG on the right wrist to create a cohesive look with the platinum ring.

Another factor is that I’d love to improve my stacking game. I feel like I’m not great at it—maybe I just need more of the right pieces.

Here’s what I currently have (all yellow gold):

- Two head Panthère (rarely worn)
- Small JUC, no diamonds (wear often)
- Regular Love, no diamonds (haven’t worn in 6 months)
- Small Love with diamonds (haven’t worn in 3 years, considering to sell)
- D’Amour medium (wear often)
- VCA 5-motif Onyx (wear often)

I don’t own any watches, and I’m pretty set on getting the Panthère mini in stainless steel. I love how it doubles as a jewelry-looking piece and has that white gold feel.

Separately, I’m also considering:
- C de Cartier diamond tennis bracelet in white gold (I don’t own any tennis bracelets yet, and this one is dainty, which I tend to wear more), or
- Another JUC (since I wear mine so much)—maybe a small WG with diamonds, or a regular in WG or YG with diamonds. I probably wouldn’t wear it on the same wrist as my engagement ring, but I’d wear it on the right wrist.

I don’t wear necklaces much and already have a couple, so probably not looking to add more. But I don't have a diamond solitaire that I love, I have DBTY in platinum but don't love the dull chain (considering to sell). For earrings, I mostly stick to diamond studs or YG VCA MOP Vintage Alhambra for dressier occasions. Since the MOP is white, I feel like they still work with white gold too.

I’m open to any suggestions—doesn’t have to be limited to what I listed. Would love to hear what you think would best complement my collection, or what stacks you personally love. Thanks in advance!

How many pieces are you wanting to purchase?

If you itemise your list in order of priority and/or daily-wear I think you pretty much have it.

I like the idea of you buying your watch next whatever. Besides my mix-and-match Trinity pieces, my Cartier (Tank) watch is my everyday every day. I have other watches (Rolex/JLC/Omega) but the Cartier goes with everything

Thank you for your advice! I'm thinking 2-3 pieces max, most likely the panthere watch and some other piece.
I'm having a hard time to prioritize, but if I have to, I think I'm leaning towards C de Cartier WG tennis bracelet or regular JUC with diamonds, really hard to choose between these two...
It's a great idea to try on some Trinity pieces. The only issue is that there's not a great choice of bracelets in this collection...

I think you'd pay quite a bit more for a tennis bracelet from cartier than you would from any other jewelry store. My recommendation would be to spend the money on something that is more obviously cartier and get the tennis bracelet from someone else.

Since you love the JUC so much, perhaps getting it in white gold would be a fun way to mix the metals while keeping cohesion through the style of the bracelet. I've saw someone on here stack the JUCs together so that they nest together. I can't find a picture but it looked really good.

Which 2-head panthere bracelet do you have?

Thank you for sharing your recommendations! I agree that you can definitely get more bling for your buck with a non branded diamond bracelet, but I really like the craftsmanship of Cartier and the likes. I had the same dilemma with diamond studs and engagement ring and ended up going the branded route. In this case, C de Cartier tennis bracelet is quite obviously Cartier as it has the little C's all around (attaching a photo). Also, attaching a photo my my YG panthere.
Did you mean to recommend a white gold small JUC or regular? I saw some JUC only stacks and liked them! But not sure if I'd enjoy this for myself. I tried it on in the boutique and as soon as I put the white gold small JUC on, I felt like removing the yellow gold, to just have a clean minimalistic look lol. I can't figure out if I'm just not into stacking on myself or if I don't have the right pieces 😂

I get what you mean about the two JUCs together. My vote goes to the JUC and tennis bracelet combo.. however I know you already have the gold JUC so I'm not sure if that makes that slightly redundant?

I would go for the regular JUC with diamonds. I had 2 small JUC then got the regular and I absolutely love it. I ended up selling one of the smalls bc I never wear them anymore. Regular JUC is such a statement piece you can wear it alone or with just one other bracelet. If your small JUC is one of your most worn pieces then I think you'll love the regular one.

I think your original 3 options are really good ones considering what you have now and what you like to wear. The 3 pieces you discuss getting will introduce 3 white metals into your collection, which will add so much versatility to your jewelry wardrobe. You can mix the metals or wear them separately.

The cartier panthere watch in ss is an excellent choice for a watch. Like you say, it can be dressed up or down and is SO versatile. I almost bought one a few years ago when the price was ~$3K for the small version. Now it's $4350. SO annoyed with myself over that! 😭

The cartier tennis bracelet is beautiful and a classic. Getting the wg version will coordinate with the other white metals that you are thinking about getting, and wg makes diamonds look so beautiful.

The wg JUC is a great option in any version that you like best. I was originally thinking that you might want to get the same version that you wear frequently in yg since you already know you really like it. But if you prefer a diamond version better, by all means get that one. My only concern would be that if you do prefer minimalism, then will the diamond version be too much for you? Also, I'm not sure where finances come into play here, but it would be easier on the pocket book to get the plain wg version of the juc, and save the budget for the diamonds in the tennis bracelet.

I'll be interested to hear what you decide to get. I'm living vicariously through other folks and enjoying their purchases since I can't get my own at the moment.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response — it’s really helpful to think through all of this with someone, since I don’t really have any jewelry enthusiasts in my circle. I’m pretty set on getting the mini Panthère watch, and then I might either hold off on getting another piece for now or postpone it a bit, since I do have to be mindful of my finances, like you mentioned. Overall, I’m thinking sooner or later I’ll definitely want to add a Cartier tennis bracelet — it just feels like such a timeless piece.

What you said about the JUC makes a lot of sense too. I tried the small white gold with diamonds, and it still fits my minimalistic style — the diamonds don’t feel overwhelming to me. If I go for the regular version, I’m leaning toward white gold with diamonds, because the rhodium plating really makes the gold look brighter and whiter.

I’m a bit on the fence about adding another yellow gold piece. I already have a small yellow gold JUC without diamonds, so if I get another JUC now, I’ll already have two in the same style — and I definitely don’t think I should end up with three versions of it. I do really love the look of the yellow gold JUC with diamonds, though. I’m also wondering if having diamonds on both wrists — even if one piece is yellow gold — might help things feel a little more cohesive when wearing my engagement ring. Maybe I just need to try them on together and see how it feels.

Thank you again for helping me think this through — I really appreciate your insights!

Vicarious shopping is a big reason I come on here. I also don't have too many people around me that appreciate clothes or jewelry in the same way I do. It is so much fun to discuss choices with people. Even if it isn't in person, it's still really fun! :)
