Might be worth calling customer service and asking because my cartier jewelry said France on all the packaging.

Mine also says Thailand. The makers mark is PGI. I bought it from the Cartier on-line e-Boutique.

Does the box have a CO number? Mine has a scan, a number and then Thailand under it. I think that refers to the box.

After a little more research it does look like there are companies in Thailand that make the boxes and then ship them to the boutiques.

My box has the same label. That is the sku number referring to the two box combination. The origin for the boxes is Thailand.

Based on some other posts here it seems like they might have started using packaging made in Thailand. I wonder when they started and given the price point I’m surprised they are trying to save a few pennies.

Cartier confirmed today all their packaging is now made in Thailand.

As far as I know the prices on the website include tax and yes as a foreigner you can ask for tax refund. The form is filled out and given to you at the boutiques. You need to get one stamp at the airport and then show the item again after security, to get the refund, either on your card or in cash. Suvarnabhumi Airport has a beautiful new Cartier boutique which carries watches and jewellery and it's automatically tax free for tourists on international flights.
