Dear fellow jewelry LOVErs, I have a very strange question for you.

This is something I didn’t notice in a few days with my ring (hard to see unless looking really closely), but the diamonds seem to be set with a bit of an “oval” look. Meaning the below and upper borders are just slightly thicker than the left and right ones.

Have you noticed anything like that in your rings or bracelets? It’s late to return for me, but just trying to understand if that’s a common thing.

Thanks a lot

If you turn your phone by 90 degrees, can be a bit more obvious  the bezel setting makes the diamond look a bit oval
So do you think it’s the diamond that is not perfect round or the setting is not round? Not sure if it’s the angle taken, but the diamond doesn’t look perfect round.

But to add, I don’t have any Love with such setting (only pave) so not sure if it’s meant to be like this.

I believe it’s the setting. Maybe it’s hard to capture in a photo, but the bezel is of slightly uneven shape. Would also be even more weird if the diamond was not perfectly round.

Thanks for the input, curious to see what others who have similar items say.

I kind of see it when turning my phone vertically to look at your picture. But i wouldnt even let it bother me. Unless you bought it second hand from an AD and your questioning its authenticity. But it could be the lighting and holding the ring at a center angle that is not centered when pictured to make it look off. If it is a concern I would return it and pick a ring that is aesthetic to your eye. It looks good to me. Nothing is made perfectly in this world.

I bought it from Cartier, so what surprises me is the build quality. IRL it looks exactly the same as in the photo.

I totally missed this first, it does require certain effort to see this, but when you see it there’s no way to unsee :annoyed::wave:
