Hi guys! I just started to build my jewelry collection, and this will be my first luxury bracelet :). Please help me decide if I should get Cartier love (regular model with no diamond or with 4 diamonds) or harry Winston’s lily cluster (the single version). I am not very careful with my jewelry so I don’t mind scratches.

My concern for the love bracelet is that many of my friends already have it…but for the lily cluster, I don’t know if diamonds could hold up its shape well over times:sad:

Also, if anyone wants to provide other choices for my first bracelet purchase please let me know :))!

thank you in advance!

I see that your lily cluster bracelet is set in Platinum which is much more stable and hardier than white gold. I think as long as the bracelet isn't too loose (less likely to move too much and hit something or get caught on something) it should be okay.

Do you play any sports like tennis? I know my Cartier SA said, the love bracelet would only get loosened up from that like of movement.

If I had to choose between the two, I'm actually going to go against my usual recommendation and say HW. They are very well known for their diamonds so since your bracelet has only diamonds, it owns up to the heritage of specialty of the brand (as opposed to buying a solid gold bangle from HW if you know what I mean.) So I do think that it is a little more special/unique because it is HW.

Having said that, it's not as well known or as popular as brands like Cartier and VCA, so it would be something that probably only you would know. Are you okay with that? If you just want a diamond bracelet, you could get a full tennis bracelet with that price from your local jeweler.

But, a couple of questions:
1) Are you more interested in diamonds or gold?
2) About further recommendations, what is your budget?

Thanks for giving those very helpful advice!! I don’t play any sports, but I want my bracelet to be carefree since I hope I could wear them all the times . And I haven’t developed my taste for diamonds or gold yet, so I guess my decision would be based on how pretty they look on me and if the cost per wear is worth it!
My budget is 8k (which means if I were to get the four diamonds of the love I need to buy less bags ). Please let me know if you would like to recommend other bracelets ~ Again, thank you so so much for answering my questions!

No problem!

Something to think about (if you haven't already considered it yet): Have you ever worn a bracelet on 24/7 and never taken it off? Because that's sort of how the love bracelet works. If it bothers you to sleep or shower with a bracelet on, maybe one with a clasp with suit your lifestyle better?
I will say the good thing about solid gold is that it doesn't really scratch you (might press into your skin and leave a mark when you sleep, but that goes away). I've scratched myself with my diamond eternity ring from rubbing my nose. Can't say if the diamond bracelet would do the same, but if I had a diamond bracelet, I'd probably take it off before bed or something like that.

If you are not in a hurry, maybe go into stores to try them on and take photos (if you haven't already done so yet; if you have posting the photos would help us as well!). That's generally pretty helpful in the decision making process. You'll get to see how platinum and gold looks on your skin tone as well.

Ok! I will visit the store soon and post some pics :P thank you again!

I vote the lily bracelet. It’s so pretty and has that Art Deco, naturalistic vibe. Also, it’s a very classic HW design. It’s in platinum and has diamonds, so I would prefer that over just a plain gold bangle. I don’t mind scratches, but the Harry Winston bracelet will also wear better than the bangle. Plus, it can be removed without too much difficulty. Overall, I find bracelets more comfortable than bangles to wear, since they don’t dig into your skin, but comfort is something you get used to either way.

The only thing for me is that I prefer the bracelet with multiple lilies. A one-station bracelet means that the bracelet will probably flip a lot and be at the bottom of your wrist more often than not. I actually seriously considered getting the multiple lily bracelet at one point. But I think I’m in the minority when it comes to chain bracelets, because most people don’t seem to mind it if a bracelet only has one focal point. Eh. I guess you could get it shortened, so it wouldn’t move as much.

Anyways, from a branding perspective, I also think Harry Winston is more special and elevated than Cartier. You have to really know your jewelry to recognize HW pieces.

If it were me, I would save money to get the multiple lily bracelet. But either way, I think the decision is still pretty easy that I like the HW more than the Cartier — in terms of design, comfort, branding, material, craftsmanship, specialness.

But if you were deciding between a love bracelet with diamonds versus the single-station lily bracelet, I would probably lean more towards the Cartier.
