Cartier LØVE Bangles & Rings Pavé Edition *Thread*

Just went to Cartier and checked out the new pave LOVE, while both are equally beautiful and new one might be stack better than the original, but the new one is so thin, feel like it lost luxurious feeling. The one of the reasons I love pave love is that it is so sturdy and indestructible. I wear it everyday without worrying. But with new one, I probably will have to check it more often and I don’t trust the locking system like I do with the original. It would definitely make people who want perfect stack happy. But I am with the team imperfection perfection. Lol. Hope that help with people who are interested in both. And I was told once the originals are sold, they won’t be making any more. LOVE the loves. Lol

Great to be seeing this side by side comparison. I can tell the difference from here.

While I used to think the new version looks good (who don’t like bigger diamonds), but I must agree the original take has more of a luxurious punch. It has always been positioned as a “statement” piece. The new look has diluted that feel. Because of this (plus like you’ve said, I’ve heard so many good things about the locking mechanism/hardiness), I’d be now on the original team! I feel the flushing part with standard Love is minute. And if want more bling aka bigger diamonds, there are always other options out there.

Thanks for posting this! I just received my pave love last year so when this version came out, I hoped I wouldn’t feel like this new one was better in some way. Thank you for confirming that is not at all the case!

I tried both on last week and I can attest to the fact the new version is definitely thin and lacks the heft the original version has. The boutique manager said that he has been selling the original version more than the new version and that others have chimed in on concerns on why Cartier changed the locking mechanism which he himself said was caught off guard because they have never heard of any complaints on the locks on the original full pave.

I will say that the new version sparkles like crazy (definitely don’t notice the screw motif as much because the bling effect overshadows it) and is great for stacking and lines up better with the non pave love.

Funny how the new love is 3 ct, but the amount of diamonds is less compared to the 2ct older version.

Did you have a chance to see if this new pave version is thinner than the two screw regular classic love? Someone mentioned here that they actually don’t stack well, and one has to have the new hinged reg classic love to stack better with the new pave design which I found surprising.

The classic hinge (not pave) love is said to be lighter than the two screw classic love?! I didn’t notice a difference when I tried classic hinge and two screw. I thought they felt the same in weight.

Edit: nvm, seems like @blinggirl74 just answered my inquiry.

Okay not there yet. Sales start was today. Available in Kopenhagen, Rome and Geneva as of now.

@scheurin any luck checking out this new pave? I think this new design is what you were seeking all these years since you didn’t like the thickness of the original pave love and the push button.

I’d love to see what it looks like with your incredible stack. 🙂

No. I did not have my non pave LOVEs with me at the time. The SA only showed me how it stacked with the hinged one. They are about the same thickness. That would not be what I would expect to spend that much for.

That may have been me. I didn’t see it in person but my SA sent video and said the new pave is thinner than the original non pave dual screw Love. She said the same about the non pave hinge Love. So that’s why I said both newer models would stack the best. However the difference looks small.

I had a chance to see them side-by-side yesterday. The new one is just as everyone has said - a good bit blingier, and about the same weight as a classic love. I did like it. Given what I'd get for my older version of the pavé and what the new one cost, I can't justify an "upgrade". One of the things I love about the one I have is that you really do get the gold and the motif. I think you really lose that in the new one. But if it had been the only one that had ever existed, might not know the difference. Both look great with my pavé clou.

I’m curious how do you feel about having to use the screw driver to open and close the bracelet? Yours is so easy to push open and close.

I would think more blingy would make it less versatile to wear casually vs the original pave.

Fair question. I guess it's one screw and you can do it with one hand, so it's something you've got to figure on taking with you if you're going to take it on and off. I remove mine at night because of the weight of it, but maybe I wouldn't for that version. I will say that having the Clou and the old version of the pavé Love makes things easier at airport security because they just go into my little bag's inside compartment. Either way, I would not disqualify the new version based on this.

Hmmm, interesting. The classic paved love that I purchased last year is 6.7 mm (size 17); compared to the new one (screw and hinge) with 6.1 mm for width. Total diamonds 2 carats (204 diamonds) vs. 3.07 carats (165 diamonds) for the new. Debating if I should add the new paved classic love or stick to the old before they are phased out. Thought process: it would be cool to have the new fastening system, then I would have 1 from each Cartier era; and 1 each for my 2 children. Like a piece of Cartier history in our heirloom.
