I been shopping around for a new watch for a little while now & i have finally narrowed down my choice between the Cartier de santos galbee or the cartier ballon bleu? both are in the steel quartz movement. I would really appreciate some feedback or opinions on either one. I'm not sure which to go for as I love both so much. Plz help?

Hey dannii! I have a Cartier BB in automatic and I love this watch!!! Though the face and links are polished steel and I see tiny hair scratch marks and it drives me nuts but I think to myself that it is "daily wear" and its ok
Either than that have you tried on both watches? That is the best decisions and see which one fits preferably in your life style! I tried on the roadster and BB and thought that the roadster would fit in my lifestyle and it didnt! Is it for business, casual or only for events? Also, what type of watches do you wear currently in your lifestyle? Are the faces round or square? Hope it helps!!! Goodluck

Thank you for your reply. The questions were helpful. I have tried both on & like them both. I currently don't have a watch as I sold it to upgrade but it was a round face. The watch would be more for day to day wear (mostly casual like coffee's/dinners/shopping). Which would you say in your opinion would suit this more? I'm great at making decisions usually but some how when it comes to buy luxury items iI always get stuck with a choice of 2 things lol

I always wondered what you decided, if you went for the Santos or not.
I think you should go for the BB and then get the Santos pre-owned, maybe later in the year. You could easily find one for 2k especially as you wanted the all SS. They both have such different looks to them as one is round face and the other is a soft square.
I am certain that I am going for the two-tone Santos mid 2014 as my 2014 present. I think it would look pretty with a yellow gold Love ring because of the screws so I'll probably get the ring later this year.
My choice for an all Stainless watch still has me waffling a bit though between a bvlgari with black face or the Cartier Tank Francaise. I worry that I might grow bored of those roman numerals if I get two Cartier watches with that same white/roman face lol.
Can you go back to Cartier boutique and snap pictures of your wrist? You could study the pictures at home (and of course post them here lol) and then you'll have a better idea which really appeals to you more. I feel like we always like something a little more but there is something else that sways us. So you have to ask yourself what is swaying you either way for either watch. Sometimes you know deep down inside that you like something now or even you loved it for years but you know if you actually owned it you might get bored of it. That happened to me with epi LV and multicolore LV, I had a red epi alma and a black mc alma and the thrill was gone after I got them lol. I barely wore them and I was so over it after I had them in my collection. I know I might feel that way about the bvlgari, I have the tiniest feeling it will be a situation of buyer's remorse and it's more just a feeling that I used to like it and am loyal to that feeling of liking it for so many years. So maybe that is how you feel about the Santos, maybe you liked it for so many years and have built it up, but now that it's so close you are having doubts that it is really your style after all.

It's def getting closer to owning 1 now lol. I really enjoyed reading your post coz you had some very valid points. I seem to be going around in circles over this watch choice but some how the santos is always in 1 of my choices!!! I'm not sure if its like what u said or if its just yelling out to me as my choice preference! I really hope I decide on it soon. I guess my biggest fear would be buyers remorse after purchasing. I had never really considered the BB until recently. I should do what u suggested & take some pics of both on & post them to see which suits my wrist more!!! Good luck again with your purchases too although im sure we will chat again (possibly about our love for cartier watches lol)

I truly LOVE My Cartier!!! It is the best investment I have made so far!!! I rarely wear my other two watches which saddens me but I try to find the time to wear them casually :/ I am already lusting over an LV watch as my next purchase! But its too soon!!!

Dear Dannii, Go with how your heart truly tells it! They are both nice watches!!! I think you should def take a snap pic of both watches to compare! Try them on and take a pic of holding your wrist up and snap a pic of it in the mirror! Then try both on one wrist and see how it looks! that is the best way!!! let us know what you decide!

At the very end of 2013 I'm planning on either a yellow gold Love ring (leaning more this way) or the Baby Love interlocking bracelet, I can't decide. And then at some point 2014 I'm going to finally go for my first Cartier watch the two-two Santos Galbee. Dannii's and our mutual love for the Galbee style is how we first got acquainted lol. I remember the thread about the LV watch, it's a really sleek attractive watch too. You could probably cruise the LV reference forum for pics of their watches, maybe someone has one? It's been a while since I went there, usually when I'm planning on a bag I'll go there and look and see what's up.
Dannii, can't wait for you to post pics of the watches up for consideration. What size BB are you interested and what size Santos? I think next time start a new thread with a poll of both wrist shots. Maybe that could sway you one way or the other. And if you are feeling really adventurous... pair it with a Love bangle that you are entertaining for the future and see which compliments it more.

Thank you. I was saying to benchwarmer that I will prob go into store and take snap shots like how you also suggested and sleep on it. Sometimes when you walk out of the store you tend to forget what you really think so with a picture to remind me, it will hopefully make it a lot easier to decide. Thanks again
