So... I came to terms with my finances, and unless someone with the $$$ to get it for me arrives, I am not getting a Cartier LOVE bracelet anytime soon.
But... I saw a Cartier/Revson bracelet on Ebay, and after loking into it and finding the best price, I decided to buy it. I read up on it, and it looks to me that Cartier granted license to Charles Revson back in 1970 of Revlon to put out an 18k electroplared gold version of the original Cartier LOVE bracelet. I found this one to be more affordable. I am impatiently awaiting for it to arrive!
My SO pointed out that it wasn't an original Cartier, and wondered why I wasn't shelling out the big bucks for one (I am just not in the right financial tax bracket to get one, you know?). So I told him to shut up and go buy me one then!
I love it, and I don't care. :yahoo:

You are very wise to realize that now is not the time for you to shell out major $$$ to buy the Cartier love bangle! It takes a very strong woman to do that!!!!

I'm SURE your bracelet will be gorgeous!! Enjoy it!!! Make sure you post pics when you get it!!!
Being smart with your finances like you are, one day you will definitely get the solid gold one too!!!

Thanks everyone. It was a hard realization, but now I feel alot better about it. I will definitely post pics when I get it. I should be receiving it by the end of this week or the beginning of next week. :)

Oooh I'd love to hear your thoughts on it - another member posted about this and I've been intrigued.

If you're satisfied, I may have to consider joining the club as well.. :graucho:

I think the only thing that is going to be of any concern about the Cartier/Revson LOVE bracelet is that it is electroplated with 18k gold. If I am going to wear it as much as I plan to, I will have to get it replated as necessary. I only ever did that with one ring. It was in yellow gold, and I had them plate it in white gold. It wore off pretty quickly on the bottom of the ring where it came into contact with stuff. I think that if I replate it with the original yellow gold, it should be fine. I just need to find a jeweler that will do a top notch job.
