Personally I think the Cartier clash is an edgy but elegant "hoop" style earring and can be very easily worn as an everyday piece. It's a design that will stay relevant forever.

I have both. My curly hair gets tangled in the clash earrings more often than I'd like. I reach for the hardware earrings more.
I prefer Clash as the details are more intricate. I have the inspired Tiffany Hardware earrings and I seldom wear it as I find too dressy to my liking. You should consider the new Clash mini earrings! They are so cute!
