I am looking to buy a new chain necklace from Cartier. I think I will likely go for the white gold one but they do not make it in 24 inch length which is what I want. It is just the simple chain necklace (very thin chain) as I already have a pendant I want to put on it.
I asked my sales assistant about how much it costs to extend the 18 inch chain to 24 inches as they only make shorter chains, she said that the first 4cm are free they they charge. She said that once I pick the exact necklace I want then she can enquire with the workshop regarding the price.
I just wanted to ask you guys if you know roughly how much chain necklace extensions cost at Cartier, as it would be very embarrassing if it’s very expensive and I have to decline buying the necklace after all this talk with my sales assistant about it. If it is a couple of hundred £ it’s fine but if it is going to add on another 50% to the price of the necklace I wouldn’t think it’s worth it!
