Recently, I saw this post on YouTube, this person said Cartier will take back your old bracelet with 60% price and you will fund the rest if you want to resize or exchange. I contacted my Cartier SA, she said never heard of this policy. There is also 1 other has said her SA said the same thing “this is not true.” Has anyone heard of this?

Me neither, however there is one person posted in the comment that she has lost half of her love bracelet and Cartier did buy back with 60% and she funded the rest for her new love bracelet

This is accurate! I was just at Cartier making a purchase yesterday. When discussing what to do w/ my old Love, which is the incorrect size for me, my SA informed me of this option. She stated Cartier would buy back my Love at 60% of it's current retail, and I would be responsible for the remaining balance. It's important to note, this option requires you to purchase the same item, just a different size. For example: if you were trying to sell back a size 16, yellow gold, Love bracelet, you would not be able to complete this option by reselecting a size 15, yellow gold, Love cuff. The item type has to be identical. I assume this is b/c it's meant to correct an incorrect purchase due to size, which is completely different than how Cartier treats a proper exchange. Whether Cartier does that or not, you may want to check with local jewelry stores who buy pre-owned or estate pieces. I sold an old Love bracelet that was several years old and I was able to get a little better than 60% of the then current retail (although, I also had all the original boxes, screw driver, and certificate from the boutique). It wasn't a huge difference over 60%, about extra $200. Then I bought a new one in the size that fits me better today. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
Checking at used jewelry websites the typical resale value is 85 % with Cartier so more than the mentioned 60 %.

So I did speak with my SA and she stated this was not true, but I feel in a way she confirmed it is in different words. She stated that if someone wanted to have the bracelet sized, they would take the bracelet as 60% down towards the balance. But she suggested selling is probably the best option and then ordering the size you want. She says that the sizing could take 6 months to do.
