Cartier Ballon bleu SS or Cartier de Panthere SS

Hi everyone

I already own a tank solo SS black leather strap and I love it. I’m thinking of getting either a panthere de Cartier or ballon bleu to add to my collection (of 1 LOL) - a SS as a change.

Which of these two watches would be your favourite choice and why?

Also it would be one of these watches or a Chanel classic flap in lamb skin with SHW. So to add a third dimension to this question, would you go for one of the watches or the bag? I can’t afford both. (I have a Chanel black caviar SHW - my first Chanel bag). Decisions decisions!!

Hands down Panthere link in SS.
Classic, timeless & eternally elegant. It has been loved internationally for decades. It is one of my all-time favorite watches.

I like the moyen/ medium size in all Cartier watches. Although about 10 years ago, I was obsessed with the mini panthere, with the double row of diamonds around the face. Sadly, Cartier stopped making the mini panthere. It was adorable. I wish they brought it back in white gold.

The nice thing about Cartier SS watches is, they do not scratch easily. The metal alloy they use is thick & resilient.

Change lambskin can scratch easily. You have to baby the bag. It is sleek & beautiful but, sensitive.

Mini Panthere ss or yg is my favorite watch among all these beautiful Cartier watches, I think getting a watch is much better than getting a lambskin Chanel, lasts longer. Not sure about the vintage lambskin but that’s what I experienced with newer lambskin.

Yes I agree about the longevity of the watch. I also think the panthere too as the ballon looks more like a day watch whereas I feel the panthere could be both a day and evening watch. Plus I just love the look of the bracelet strap especially with a tan . You see I have a caviar woc and the tank solo already and I love both of them. It’s a special occasion present this year and my concern with the flap is if I don’t get it now it will become unattainable with the price increases. Thing is I want both but I can’t afford both

And I am also thinking about how often I would use/wear each one. With the watch I could wear it every day if I wanted to without worrying it will get marked etc. With the flap it wouldn’t be an everyday wear, mainly special occasions/nice days out etc and obviously dependent on the weather. Plus on holiday I might be scared to take it with me whereas the watch less so as I’d be wearing it. So another thought process crossing my mind this morning is whether to forget the flap entirely and go for a red Chanel woc shw and the watch? Thoughts?

I am a huge Chanel fan, but would choose the watch in this case. I have the sm Panthere watch with diamonds, and it is such a treasure! Can be dressed up or down....definitely versatile. And esp in this size!
