I’m planning a trip to King of Prussia and I’m thinking of getting a Cartier Ballon Bleu. I’m torn between the 33mm and 36mm sizes. My wrist is 5.5 inches, and I have a Datejust 26 that was a gift. It’s a bit too small for me, and I’m worried that a 36mm might be too big. I’m 5’4” and size 6-8. I’ve attached a photo of my wrist with a 42mm Apple Watch because my Rolex is locked up. 🫣

If you have a Ballon Bleu, I’d love to hear your recommendations!

This may sound like a weird question, but: how old are you and how are your eyes with reading?

That 3mm difference can make a world of difference when you hit reading glasses age. If you can read your watch without glasses you will enjoy it so much more.

Let me know if you need a SA recommendation at KoP - have the best for one you and he’ll be happy to help you find the right size!

It depends on usage I think. I have the 33mm. Generally I prefer larger watches and this is my smallest watch. However I purchased it to wear as more of a dress watch so I didn't want a large case. My wrist is 14.5 mm.
I also think the bracelet on the 33mm is prettier / more feminine as it tapers from the lugs. The 36mm does not taper at all.
In terms of the dial I find the 33mm easy to read, more so than the medium Panthere.

I think trying on both sizes will probably be the best indicator. Try on both and take pictures!

My preference would be 33mm as I’m short. I think the 36mm may feel more casual due to the larger size.

I think mini watches have been popular for a bit so we should see larger watches come back in.

33mm is the best size for the Ballon Bleu, imo - large enough to make an impact but small enough to dress up. It's not as popular as it used to be, but I think it's Cartier's prettiest women's watch.
