Carolina bucci bracelet black from Italian volcano mud bath! Help!!

Dear Gods (because who else knows as much about jewelry as the users here!)

I went to the volcanic mud baths in the aeolian islands in Italy, and my Carolina bucci special edition ($220) bracelet turned black!

It's gold plated. The thread is obviously fine, but the chains have turned so black

Is there a way I can fix it? Toothpaste? I can't really take it off since its knotted into infinity in order not to fall off...

Have you tried using a mixture of water and dishwashing detergent? That's my trick for cleaning jewelry and removing tarnish.

I'm used my handy dandy old method of boiling water baking soda salt and aluminum foil in a bowl! Clean as ever!
