Canvas repair: dog puncture

Well… my own fault for leaving my pouch where my dog could get it. He put a partial puncture through the canvas and I’m hoping to get some suggestions on how to protect the tear from getting worse. It’s only on the exterior canvas, the interior is intact. Any tips are much appreciated!

Take it to store first. I am afraid to suggest anything but except pack it away for now until you can show your SA.

Sadly once the canvas is damaged it cannot be repaired. LV will probably say they cannot do anything about it.

You could take it to a cobbler or leather worker or jut put a tiny bit of clear nail polish on the area. I’ve been doing that on the zipper fabric of my Trousse Toilette for years and it’s held up well. It will seal it so it doesn’t get worse. Use it sparingly though, let dry. You can always do a second coat later.

Thanks! Yes, I have no doubt LV won’t be able to help. I’m more looking for a DYI to keep it from getting worse.

Check out Bedos Leatherworks on YouTube (no affiliation), he has worked some miracles on damaged LV items. Or check with Rago Brothers. Worst case you could put some kind of patch on it and make your own World Tour cosmetics case.
