Hi everyone! I'm interested in getting a canthopexy at some point, and it'd be convenient to do it in Korea as I already plan to get some other surgeries there. Please note a canthopexy is NOT the same as a canthoplasty. A canthopexy is that cat eye surgery that some western celebrities get. Skin is not removed. A suture (often dissolvable I think) is used to give the eye a bit of a tilt. It is not a thread lift either though, I think it lasts quite a bit longer, like a decade. Some doctors in America do it but I'm not super interested in visiting America, I feel like It'd be more worth my time staying in Korea because I'd go sightsee. The ones I found online were also very expensive or had botched cases. If you have recommendations for doctors outside of Korea I would consider it, but Korea is my priority. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone! I've asked the Asian Plastic Surgery Forum before, but this surgery doesn't seem common in Korea unfortunately. I wanted to ask if any of you have heard of any doctors that are good at lateral canthopexy surgery? Please don't confuse it with canthoplasty, they're actually different, and canthoplasty is much more invasive. I plan to get most of my procedures done in Korea, but I'm willing to travel to other countries also. If you have any recommendations for clinics in NSW, Australia that would probably be my top priority since it's close to home. I'd also be willing to travel to the US, Canada, UK, Turkey, etc.

It's preferable if the doctor specialises in eye, or at the very least facial surgery. I find it concerning when a doctor does every single type of surgery in existence by themselves. I'd love to hear your experiences! It'd be lovely if it wasn't super expensive, because this is quite a simple procedure I believe, but I'm willing to spend money to look good with less risk of getting botched. It's okay if they have a bit of a wait list, I probably won't get this done until 2025-2026.

Thanks in advance for your time everyone ^-^

My plastic surgeon (husband and wife team) is very experienced and certified in oculoplastic, opthalmological and plastic surgery. I don’t know much about canthoplexy personally, but I have heard it mentioned with respect to procedures they do re lower eyelid bleph. If so, Highly recommend, and friends and family have used my PS also for upper and lower eyelid procedures and restructuring. I trust their skill; artistry; judgment; and ethics. On the pricier side, but very worth it. NY based, with an East Coast philosophy towards PS, relatively conservative, geared towards restoring what you had or making subtle adjustments to improve. I am Asian, and I shudder when I read about botched or revision work elsewhere.

ETA: I’ve had upper bleph, fat graft; chin lipo in one procedure; and lipo in another. A family member has had upper and lower bhlep (for eyesight reasons); eye bag work. Another had lipoma removal and lipo. And, a dear friend had lower bleph and chin lipo. Stellar results. Receptionist and aftercare matter a great deal to me, and it’s excellent.

Really? Korea seems all about this but they call it something different in Korean.

When it comes to finding a specialist you might want to start by looking for oculoplastic surgeons, as they specialize in eye and eyelid surgeries. In Aus, the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) provides resources to find surgeons who are accredited in various specialties. Similarly, in the US, the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) is a good starting point for finding qualified oculoplastic surgeons.

What do they call it if you don't mind sharing?
