I’m basically posting this to vent because no one I know would have any sympathy for me. I had so much bag indecision and thought I settled on a red grained baby sac de jour. I just loooooved looking at it. And it looked so good with most of my clothes. But it literally sat on my shelf for 3 weeks with no opportunity to use it. It’s just a tad too small and I did not like how you could literally see every single thing inside it. I couldn’t justify it because I could hardly think of any occasions I would feel comfortable using it.

So I returned it. Now I miss it when I walk into my closet :( I’m even stalking preloved sites thinking if it cost less maybe I won’t feel as bad not using it much. I ended up getting a LV neonoe because it fits my lifestyle better and actually more comfortable to wear but the feeling is not the same and I’m wondering if I should just return it and give up and wait until the right bag comes to me ugh first world problems.

My Sac de Jour has been sitting on the shelf for over a year. Funny you mentioned the NeoNoe because I pulled it down to give it some love this week. You should get the sac in a larger size since you can't stop thinking about it.

I know the feeling It’s ok. I bet many of us here felt like that before. I bought smaller bags before that didn’t end up with much use. I sometimes wear them, but at the same time carry my laptop bag so I can fit my iPad etc in that, not as convince the as just one bag but I have come to accept that.

i thought about getting the small, but it seems like such a big jump in size and i think it looks a bit odd crossbody. also for some reason the openness of sac de jour is just too much for me. I use 2 open totes but when they're under the arm it feels secure, with the sac de jour being open and dangling around on my side I feel like things will fall out or be vulnerable to pick pockets. I wish it was just a teensy bit bigger and had at least a snap or something *sigh* it's SO beautiful though

Well hopefully you'll find something that works for you and you love it! Maybe a bag similar to the SDJ with a closed top. The SDJ is a beautiful bag. I think mine is the small and I don't think I can wear it crossbody. The size difference isn't that big to me. At least on paper it isn't. I think the jump from the nano to the baby seems bigger.

Sellers or return remorse is very real. Should you perhaps consider repurchasing it while it’s readily available? Sometimes the only way to appreciate what we have is to have to buy it a second, or cough, a third time.

I understand how you feel.
I had a small Sac De Jour that I used to use for work. I loved the style, structure, and minimalism of the bag.
However, it is just so heavy! (I know that isn't your issue since you got the baby size.) And I just stopped reaching for it. It sat on my shelf for at least a year, if not 1.5 years doing nothing.
As a person who hates not using her stuff, I was like, it is time for you to go! And I sold it.

I still think of it from time to time, because I just love the look. But I know deep in my heart, that if I got it again, I'd probably not use it. It's just not for me.

Yes! The bag is heavy for no reason at all. It is nice though and when I go back to the office I will reach for it again. But yeah I've only worn it once in the last year. It's my only Navy bag so I don't want to get rid of it.

I'm obviously super late to this string, but will add my two cents nonetheless lol. I purchased a large red Sac De Jour a few years ago and I've literally used it maybe twice. Earlier this year, I purchased a small gray Sac De Jour and haven't used it to date. I have a fairly extensive bag collection, and these two bags (along with a Chanel Jumbo) are the only 3 bags that have received almost zero use. I've analyzed this extensively, and reached the conclusion that these bags look amazing in pictures, but are completely impractical. The leather on them is so damn delicate that I fear a single scratch or errant pen mark will totally ruin their beauty. The large Sac De Jour is also annoying in that it is a huge bag but lacks a shoulder strap. I wear my bags primarily to work, so there has to at least be some degree of practicality...and it's just not there. I totally regret all 3 purchases and really need to take the time to list and sell them. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I find that I get the most use out of my Givenchy bags (Antigona, Lucrezia, Nightingale). Out of my entire collection, these are the ones that get almost daily use. In fact, my large goat grain Antigona is the only bag that I've ever "worn out" from use. I think Givenchy makes bags that are both beautiful and functional (shoulder strap + zipper). On a final point, I did recently buy the Y-Ligne clutch in both black and red, and don't regret those purchases at all...so don't want to knock YSL overall.

are your bags smooth or grained leather?
Hi! Both of the Sac De Jours are smooth. My Chanel is lambskin. Those are the three that I never use. However, my Y-Ligne clutches are also both smooth and I love them. I will say that the very first time I used my red Y-Ligne clutch, I asked my husband to hold it for me for maybe 5 minutes while I ran to the restroom at a movie theater and when he handed it back to me, it had maybe a pin size black mark on it. I'm still not sure how in the world that happened, and still wondering if I should blame my husband or YSL for making such a super damn delicate leather lol. Every nick and scratch is visible on their smooth bags.
