Can you recommend a good everyday bag as my last luxury bag?

Hi,
I am looking for a good everyday bag. I bought two seasonal chanel bags that I frequently use for dressy events and dinners. As much as I love luxury bags, me and my husband decided that this would be my last luxury bag purchase for a few years due to other financial responsibilities. I need an everyday bag that is no more than $1500. Not for beating up or the beach or grocery shopping but for less dressy but "clean" frequent outings. Things like the mall, post office, the bank or meating a friend for brunch. So something when you want to look put together but not black tie events. I am thinking of getting something gucci or LV. Which one do you recommend? I'm open to suggestions too. Any ideas? Thanks.

I would definitely look at LV. I have both a Gucci and LV and LV has the best everyday bag variety hands down.

I saw for around $1500, look into:

Sully PM (for shoulder carry)

Siena PM (3 ways to carry: shoulder, handheld & crossbody)

Alma PM (handheld only but you can attach a strap)

Speedy 25-30 bandouliere (roomier 3 way option as well)

Twinset (love the Empreinte ones! Crossbody)

Alma BB (if want something small and cute. And your budget could get you an epi version too! 3 way carry option)

I guess if you want larger shoulder bags: neverfull Mm and delightful but to me that's just a little casual. I like those for travel or like busy days when I need to haul the universe.

I like Gucci leather bags with bamboo handles. They're very classic and dressy but also look good with casual outfits. Absolutely gorgeous Italian leather.
In general Gucci leather bags are very good quality wise and very timeless in terms of fashion.

LV canvas is a very sturdy choice. My favorite LV bags are Pouchette Metis and Totally MM. LV Neverfull is a good tote bag for all year around but Saint Laurent also offers the same style Shopping Tote bag as Neverfull but in leather. I believe it's the same price as Neverfull or similar which is very low for Saint Laurent bags. It's going to be my next purchase.

Mulberry wins, hands down. Timeless designs, lovely colors, great leathers. They've come up with gorgeous new designs and Mully (except for a couple of designs in certain parts of the world) bags aren't something you run into all the time. :smile1:

A Gucci Soho would make a great choice, just take a look at the range http://www.gucci.com/us/en/ca/women/womens-soho-c-women-soho

Some of the Bamboos might be slightly out of reach for the price, but have a look at them too. The Bamboo Daily and the Mini Shopper would be prefect http://www.gucci.com/us/en/ca/women/womens-bamboo-c-women-bamboo

Personally, I wouldn't consider a canvas unless it was needed for a 'chuck around', leather is always nicer, especially when excellent quality

Gucci is having its sale soon so the Bamboo would be more affordable. It's important to grab it fast though, it's a popular bag. I can't even compare them to LV canvas bags, two different worlds. Gucci leather is beautiful and timeless and the canvas is...well... easy to use.

Hi,

Pre owned Chanel ( seasonal items) make for great everyday bags. I have the 8 knot, plus an older bowler style and the leather quality is amazing, no competition with anything else, except maybe Hermes.

Unless you go canvas or used, LV will bust the $1.5k budget. I personally don't view canvas as a great timeless piece. But if you want to opt for canvas, then LV will fit that range.

I second Gucci, they have seasonal sales (2x/year) which could nab you something leather and beautifully done. Plus everything is made in Italy.

Other brands that go on sale you can possibly nab below $1.5k: Burberry, Chloe, Fendi, Ferragamo, Prada, etc.

I would get a Balenciaga City or Work. B bags are hands down my most used everyday bags. For LV the delightful is really nice but they only come in PM and MM sizes, which to me a bit too small.

I think the budget is very good, apart from pre loved seasonal Chanel, (which are soooo much fun hunting down) consider longchamp, their leather bags are lovely - AND they offer after care, refurbishment akin to Hermes without the long waiting times. Very impressed with their service.
