Can you get a Birkin for the retail price?

Hello again for the people who recognize me.
I wonder if there is generally any possibility someone selling a person a Birkin new for the purchase price they got it at the store, or is it always extra for the premium?
I am saving up as some of you know, so I want to maybe know if anybody has a clue how it is.

In my experience, there is always a premium. In a larger size (B35, B40, K35) or an unpopular colour you may be able to get close to retail. Depending on where you live and where you buy that has a bearing on it, as some countries the cost of a Birkin is higher than others, so if you live somewhere where retail is high and if you buy somewhere that is advantageous as far as exchange rate goes you can pay a minimal amount over retail.

The consignment fees are often above 20% so unless somebody a. is stranded for cash (unlikely in B world?) b.selling directly (still why would they not earn anything) then unlikely.

Save the money then make a trip to Paris. You'll pay less than the US price for a the trip, and if you play your cards right, a bag. Persistence and being genuine with the SA were key for me.

I honestly think it depends on the condition of the bag and the combination offered. Not every B25 sells for $19,000 resale...in fact, I seriously doubt whether most resellers wind up getting nearly that much, even if they are listed at that price.

If you are not looking for a perfect, new bag, or would consider a less popular size, there are options.

Exactly, the $19,000 bags are sitting there (for the most part), I know bc I’m watching them! Also, when I see the $20-22,000 bags on ebay and elsewhere I wonder why people are even wasting their time.
