Can you do tassel boots preppy style???

Good evening! I scored these boots on Gilt a week ago and am wondering if I can do them "preppy" style...think J. Crew...skinny jeans, fitted crewneck sweater...cool necklace...what do you think? I am not really the boho type but I LOVE these boots and am just trying to work them into my wardrobe.
