I have a twilly that is pretty frayed and threadbare in spots, from being wrapped around a bag handle. I don't care to try to fix it - the purpose of the twilly was to protect the bag handle so it did its job, and now I've replaced it with another twilly. I don't have any other place I can use it.

However, it seems too nice of a thing to throw away - maybe it can find some new life cut up and re-used somewhere. What have you done with damaged scarves that you don't care to fix and reuse? Any creative ideas? Thanks!

Perhaps a scrunchie or twist around your wrist if that appeals to you..

I would make buttons, like the Petit H ones:

How much do you sew or work with textiles? An easy option would be to make it into a scrunchy or a hair bow.

You could open it up, and trim the collar on a shirt, or make a dog bandana

If you’re very experienced with textiles, you could make a plush such as a Teddy Bear or use it in a quilt, or make doll garments.

such a cool idea - I second that. These people https://harlequin-uk.com/product-category/bespoke-products/covered-buttons/ can make them for you very professional and they can do scrunchies and clutches and other things. (though obviously there in not enough fabric in a twirly, but maybe with a scarf or something. Do show us what you decide to do, I for one will be very interested.

That’s brilliant.
