can you buy & add a shoulder strap to an old school speedy?

I'm pretty sure the leather tabs on the sized of the speedy include only one which is punched, as a way of carrying the padlock on it. If you were willing to punch the other one yourself, I'm sure you could buy a strap and use it, but it may cause weight strain on the center of the bag. I'm pretty sure the speedy's w straps are reinforced in an effort to distribute the weight more evenly and keep the shape.
You could only attach it to the metal pieces where the handles/chaps are connected. Not advisable though, particularly for extended periods of time.
