Can this Petite Noe be saved?

Hi! I would appreciate any input on this noe. I don't really want to send it off to be repaired but I'm wondering if it's going to survive daily use in the condition it's in now ? Canvas is flawless but the vachetta is dry and cracking and I'll probably have to take the top vachetta off at some point BC it's already cracking off. Also how much do you think this bag is worth in this particular condition, in your opinion? Thank you in advance loves!

I’ve no idea how much it’s worth in this condition, but if the canvas is totally undamaged, I would have the leather replaced. It will cost you a bit, but it’s probably going to be about half the cost of a new bag, and the chances are this one probably has thicker and more durable canvas than a petite noe you’d buy new today.

I had the Vachetta replaced on a 20 year old Petit Noe. You'll never find that heavy duty canvas on the new bags. She came back looking like new. So worth it.

I had a similar condition bag (bought on eBay for $300 usd) and didnt realize the top leather was cracking. I had the top and the two sides replaced and it was $180. Bought a replacement string from Etsy as well as a crossbody strap and top handle. Cleaned the bottom but on this style can’t really see it anyway. It is one of my favorite bags. Also looks good with an adjustable canvas strap. For the $180 I would replace the visible leather so the canvas underneath doesn’t become compromised.

Wow looks great! I guess I will definitely be replacing the visible vachetta then. May I ask how long the process took?

It actually took about 8 weeks, although I was quoted 12. I did have a repair after that take forever though. I think it was definitely worth it!
