Hello from New Zealand.
Im asking the wonderful members of this forum for advice on my first Gucci.
Im trying to add new brands to my small handbag collection.
Currently Im collecting and rehabbing Vintage Coach and having fun doing that.
Other than a preloved Mulberry Mitzy and the Coach , most of my bags are lower end and no name brands.
Im wondering if you all could give me an opinion on an entry level Gucci bag. I will be buying preloved and my budget is not huge, about $300 to $400 NZ dollars so I know that what I get is not going to be in fab condition and will show much wear. Thinking vintage might be the way to go.
I had thought about the Jackie but tried my thrifted Jasper Conran horsebit hobo which is a similar style and know that it wont work for me. The Amalfi took my fancy but its like the Jackie and the Jasper Conran.
A tote style is another I was looking at or even a shoulderbag. Would love something with a bamboo accent but I know that might increase the cost.
My problem is also we only have Gucci in Auckland and its an 8hr drive or 1hr flight to shop there so trying to see what the feel and weight of a bag is difficult.
I am just completely ignorant of the quality of the brand .
So I would love to see you reviews on a bag style you think would work. Either you have a picture and can tell me what you can fit in the bag or how comfortable it is to wear I would greatly appreciate it.

I am also aware that this might be a slippery slope as it was with Coach.
I thank you from the bottom of the world.

I did a search on Ebay out of curiosity and OMG there are plenty of fakes around so please be careful. Anything authentic and you should be fine for quality. Please submit any preloved bag for an authenticity check before you buy.

You wanted Bamboo so I can see a good value Peggy (2006) that's great value but you will have to either find a way to clean the pale inside leather or live with it. Of course you'll have to factor in P&P and duties.

Gosh thats a nice one...but I have to watch out for postage...some wont ship to NZ.
I think when I think of Gucci I think monogram, so its wonderful to see my horizons broadened.
Would also be getting them authenticated here.. Ive been lucky so far with the wonderful Authenticate this Coach gals.

This is a type of Peggy (the same as I showed you first in the Flora print).
Sorry its taken me so long to reply. My brain and my eyes did not compute that they were the same bag style so thank you for that.

I hope this is not too stupid a question , but can you wash a Gucci canvas bag? Would like to know before I make a future bad mistake.
