Can the Speedy B be a dinner bag.. opinions?

If you carried the speedy B without the strap as a top handle bag, could it be dressy enough to be a dinner bag? I personally think the bag looks dressier as the classic speedy, but I wanted to get opinions.
Not cocktail dress event/wedding, but just a steakhouse dinner, etc.

I bought the speedy B 25 in mono and DE- my goal is to have a travel bag that’s also dressy enough to take to a nice dinner. I don’t want to have to pack 2 bags on a trip.

That’s what I was thinking. I bought the speedy b mono and DE thinking I would bring it for travel, I just hoped it would be dressy enough in case I went out to a nice restaurant on vacation. I don’t want to have to bring two bags on a trip

Bringing two bags on vacation is a pain. You're on vacation. Who cares what people think? It's not like you know any of them. Just use the Speedy and you'll be ok. I'm sure people are more preoccupied with what they have going on than to judge the bag you're carrying. :smile:

I think the Speedy could work for evening dinners, and ‘fine dining’ but the outfit has to be on point. I haven’t attended many formal events over the past 2 years but a wedding, which I used the Felicie in monogram against an all black pant outfit (everyone loved it). Sometimes I reason I’m carrying someone’s mortgage payment to hold my wallet and phone, so it easily makes the outfit most of the time.

I bring 1-2 bags for a domestic trip and use the Felicie or the YSL uptown pouch for the evening. An epi Alma bb can be used day and night if you don’t need a lot of capacity.

This really struck me. So, so true. As I am arguing with my husband about a Pochette I just bought.

The speedy would be fine for a casual dinner. You could a,easy carry a Pochette in the speedy to hold essentials during the day and then use it as an evening clutch or bring a chain strap to dress it up. And also agree with the Epi Alma, took mine to a nice dinner recently and it was very appropriate.

I have a few weekend getaways coming up and I plan to bring my Speedy B 25 in DE as my only bag. I'll wear it crossbody for sightseeing during the day and carry it by the top handles for dinner. I agree with others that it wouldn't work for formal dinners, but for most places it would be great.

I also love to bring my Felicie when I travel, but for these trips we don't have any Michelin-starred dinners planned :P
