I've admired the lady dior for a long time now.

I recently sold my ysl sac du jour and now I'm looking for a top handle bag with feet.

Can any versions of the lady dior be sturdy enough for near daily use?

I like the silver and gold hardware options but the matte is also nice and might be sturdier for daily use.

Would you be against buying preloved? I have a 13 year old medium Lady Dior and it’s practically indestructible, way more hard wearing than my 1 year old small Lady Dior. I’m not sure if it just happens to be luck of the draw with leather (probably!) or if the leather they use on modern bags is thinner, but I’ve chucked my old medium around loads and it’s really stood up to it, while my small has got wear on the edges.
The medium is a great size for daily necessities though, and useful to have the handles and longer strap. I use mine a lot to go to work, run errands etc

For daily use, you can look into the grained calfskin versions of the lady dior! However, I feel that the bag alone is quite heavy (for me) - best to go down to try! :)

I do use my black, medium lady Dior bag as an everyday bag, but with a few caveats.

I have a nice collection of bags so my bags are rotated quite often (and don’t get too much wear), I don’t use public transportation very often (travel mostly by car), and I switch my bag if it’s raining or snowing heavily and I’m going to be outside for a long period of time.

I have taken the medium lady Dior on a ton of trips (along with a woc) and the lady still looks new. But it is black & I am a bit careful. (I would never use it for a winter trip to rainy Seattle or a summer monsoon trip to Delhi).

For me, the lady Dior is not too heavy a bag. My Italian bags of similar size are much heavier. (Dolce and Gabbana Miss Sicily & Prada mini tote). But my leather alma pm is much lighter.

I love the medium lady Dior so much that I bought it in a couple light colors, too. (White & powder pink). I’m more careful with those bags because of the color. These are my favorite everyday bags… but, again, I’m careful. If I wanted another lady Dior, I would probably look at the grained calfskin in beige.

I find the medium lady Dior quite heavy, but of course it can be an everyday bag. I have the around the world tapestry which I assumed would be lighter, but no. . . It is super indestructible; goes through occasional snow and rain unscathed. And it looks brand new. If you buy vintage as another post suggested, I think some of them have a zippered opening. I also have a mens leather saddle in a coated leather; that bag goes through all weather and can be flattened into a suitcase and comes out perfectly
