Can I DIY and refurbish this Anthra City?

May I have your views please - I am considering buying this preloved Anthracite Giant City. Showed the pics to a bag spa, and they said it need recolouring and the works and it would cost quite a lot for it. I personally prefer not to have bags dyed as I have heard that they lose the distressed effect, and am wondering if I should just purchase a City in a better condition at a higher price. Is this DIY-able? Thanks for your views in advance!

I agree, no one, not the best professional can preserve the multifaceted depth of Bal leather when it’s dyed. OTOH, this leather looks like it might perk up with a couple of serious conditionings. In the photos, the body looks good to me. Handles need help.

Handles can not be cleaned without a professional, probably dying them. So if I were considering this bag, I’d factor in the cost for that, probably $175 for an expert to work on them.

Hope this was some help.
