Can Hermes RTW be fake?

I have a question for knowledgeable people here. I found a Hermes jacket for sale at one of Paris vintage stores. Seller says it was never worn. They sell it for half of retail price. Im just surprised by the price and I’m not sure could it be fake? Is anyone heard of Hermes RTW are replicated? Thanks in advance.

In theory, anything can be faked these days, but H RTW also doesn't have strong resale value for the most part, so I would not be totally suspect of a price that is half of retail.

Agreed with @jenayb. Fake RTW definitely exists but the going rate for H RTW on the second hand market is 40-60% off so I might argue that the price isn’t even that good!

I just returned from a trip to Paris. I have seen "fake scarves, jewelry & shoes" in the marketplace in
addition to bags.
Reputable vintage dealers that I have dealt with do not deal with "fakes" be it Dior, Chanel or Hermes
So in spite of the piece not being worn, the advantage that the dealer has is that the condition merits the
price & dealer can ask what price they want, JMO.
It's a wearable jacket so if you like it & the dealer is answering your questions & you feel comfortable
buying it, your call

I don’t know the retail price to be honest. I found that on eBay same jacket is sold for $5900 and here they sell it for €2600. Here is tag. I tried to bargain but they said they can do €100 off and maybe little more for tax refund.

Keep in mind that the price of ready to wear in Europe is much cheaper than US.

I don’t know about this specific piece. But I have seen fake Hermes RTW. I happened to own all except for one CW of a long cardigan from a few seasons ago. I was at a Lady Gaga concert and was looking at the costume exhibits. A woman cut me off and she was wearing the piece in a CW that did not exist and the prints were also a bit off. She literally cut in front of me and I saw the fake up close. I was very shocked because I did not know that there was a market for those fakes.

We went on a beach vacation. I was shocked when we passed by a stall selling fake products. Some pieces looked more authentic than my original bag. 😂😂😂😂

People tends to buy Hermès RTW just for pre-spending to quota bag. They don’t really want it (that sometimes they call it H junk). So I’m not surprised if the resell value would be 50% off original retail prices or even lower to 90% off.
