Can anyone identify this Dooney?

Hello Dooney Enthusiasts, would anyone be able to help identify this secondhand Alto bag that was gifted to me. It is large measuring about 17” long at the base and just over 14” at the top; about 7” wide and about 10” tall. It has rolled handles with a drop length of 6”. I am also curious about the age and color. It’s lighter in color than a 5 yr old Florentine Dooney in natural that I have, but darker than the trim on an 7 yr old patent leather Dooney I have, which seems like similar leather. I can’t find anything on the internet on it. What’s different from the current Alto collection and a little strange is that the hardware on this is silver-toned or chrome. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

It looks like a Florentine leather satchel, and the color does look like steel blue.
The Florentine satchel comes in many sizes. If the length of the base is 15" then
it was originally called the 'medium', now it's called the large. If the base is 12"
it was originally called the small, now just called the Florentine Satchel.

I'm not an authenticator, but if there are any tags or warranty cards insdie
the bag, then there would be a color code after the style number.

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, no tags or warranty card.

I don't know the name of the color but I recall seeing it. The silver hardware is typical. I would guess early aughts, maybe earlier? It was sold as a unisex briefcase which may be the reason for the silver hardware. If you go on ebay and search for "vintage alto briefcase" you'll find similar bags. It is beautiful.

I so appreciate your feedback. I think the bag is beautiful too and I feel so lucky to have gotten it. I found two of the exact same briefcases on eBay in different colors already sold, but no further info at all. I believe there is a photo of one posted in the Dooney Alto Club thread and put an inquiry in, but the member hasn’t posted anything in over a year. Your info is so helpful. Thank you again!

I know my “New to Me” tote bag is a Charleston, but I can’t decide if it’s fuchsia or geranium or hot pink. 🤷‍♀️
Don’t see many Donney’s around here, but I happened upon this one in a consignment store. She is nicely “broken in” & she’s been around for a while & I love her!

Thank you for any ideas on how to identify the colour name.

It's always hard to tell colors from photos.... and my computer monitor may not be
showing the color as it appears in person in natural light. But, from what I see,
I don't think it's geranium. Geranium in Dooney pebbled leather is more of
a red orange shade.

It looks like fuchsia to me in your first picture. Although some years hot pink and
fuchsia look very much alike and the names are used in different collections.

Enjoy your handbag. I love the color.

Thank you! I will!
She is a bit of a chameleon tho . Sometimes she looks very very pink ( I think then she must be fuchsia) …but driving in my car today, in the sunshine, I glanced over at her and she looked almost red ! 😳

Maybe Strawberry ? 🤷‍♀️

Could be Strawberry.... looks red but in some lights you can see pink undertones
What ever color it is.... just enjoy the handbag.

Only challenge comes when you want to pair it with pinks, reds, oranges....
then you need natural light for all the fabrics to see what will go together.

Or, mix it up and just carry the handbag with everything.... pink and orange,
pink and red, think of the color as a flower in the garden.... all the flowers
go together.

As long as the pairing makes you happy.... then the colors go together.
If the outfit bothers you, then try something different.
Another trick is to find a scarf that incorporates the handbag color and
the clothing colors. Then you have an instant way to bring it all together.
The scarf can be tied onto the handbag or be worn as part of your outfit...
but it makes it all look 'intentional', and to me that makes an outfit
work.

Hello All,
I’m hoping for another color confirmation…is this Bristol fuchsia?IMG_2598.jpeg
Thank you, any help is appreciated. I don’t have the registration card to confirm. I was told Fuchsia by the seller…but I guess it could be magenta or hot pink also🫣IMG_2591.jpeg
