Hi everybody,

I am in the market for a crossbody bag, and came across Abaco brand from Paris. The price is right and the design too. But I wonder how sturdy and light bags are? I am eyeing the mini crossbodies.

Thanks!

Here is mine.
I love Abaco, they are French made, the leather is wonderful. The brand is considered as expensive here but there are sales at the moment . I suggest you have a look at their site.
I have noticed they are cheaper there.

Hello -
I have this bag, the Jamily in python leather and it is lightweight AND so easy to use.
Very little hardware makes it lighter.

The leather is soft and sturdy and just puddles.
The brand is not easy to find. A couple of years ago, Bloomies carried them. Or, sometimes you can find them on Yoox.

OOH, just took a look at the link above - for their webite. NICE items. My Jamily in Python is on the site.

anitalilac - what bag has caught your eye???

I have a crossbody Abaco bag! I also discovered this bag during my trip to Paris as well. What caught my eye was the buttery feel of the leather. It is also one of my lighter weight bags. I've had it for about 4 years and I still love the bag!

Anitalilac, I think its name is Dan.
Yes, It's lamb, so very lightweight.

I am eyeing the Dan and Mini Jamily!! Thanks for your feedbacks....but the Dan colors right now are not to my liking. I wonder will they come up with different colors? Something in yellow....or cobalt blue....

Cobalt blue is a wonderful colour, anitalilac, it goes with so many things. Unfortunately , I don't know whether Abaco will have blue cobalt bags in the next collection.. As for yellow, I would be afraid of colour transfer.....

I have a few Abacos.and they are fairly lightweight and nice. I do think that the latest Jamily I bought in 2014 is not as nice a previous seasons bags. The black leather is not quite as soft and feels like the finish is somewhat glazed. It also shows marks from the sewing machine foot over some of the stitching.

You can sometimes find good prices especially on Yoox. The Abaco site does have sales and special notices if you sign up for their emails. My black jamily was $435 + $35 shipping via Collisimo. I've seen them on Bluefly and Gilt too.

So I Joined their mailing list to see any offers or deals on Abaco website, but the emails are in French. Anybody on their email lists?
If you click on the link to the site then click on Americas on the top left of the page it will switch the language and the prices to USD.

I just use the mailing list to know when sales are starting and the % off.
